Sad Virus Space

Sad Virus Space is just an asset flip that features the same green monstrosity from all the other "Sad Virus X" game series ... This time we're exploring the vast map of planet Mars, just to find 6 bottles. That's it, that's all. The resolutions are so limited that you'll likely be stuck with a poorly stretched skin anyways. There's BGM, but no audio whatsoever, neither from the virus nor the environment that you're moving through. No instructions nor tutorial exists either, so good luck trying to navigate around and find these 6 tiny glass bottles scattered across the map. Seriously, this game is not worth the price. I want my 10 mins worth of playtime back.

What really frustrated me was having to search for bottles scattered all over Mars. Just imagine—a huge map, and you’re supposed to find these tiny bottles without any tutorial or hints. Absolutely stressful. Thankfully, with the help of a guide (and the fact that large buildings stood out), I managed to find them all fairly quickly. Still, my brain was already starting to fry from how massive the map was. Honestly, if there had been no guide, I would’ve lost my mind.

I unfortunately have some unfortunate things to unfortunately say. There is NO gravity change with mars, and IN FACT I would say that the gravity in sad virus winter is LESS than that of in earth. Now from a topographic standpoint this makes sense because the mountains are in fact higher than sea level which means that the radius from the center of the earth is increased, furthermore decreasing the gravity. HOWEVER, this does not seem to be the case for Sad Virus mars, which is disappointing. I dare say, even the music soundtrack seems a little off compared to other variants of this beautiful masterpiece we call Sad Virus. Hopefully, the newer version of sad virus will take into account these complaints and gripes. Still a fan of this 12 minute masterpiece.

Sad Virus Space, developed and published by DIG Games, is another entry in a series that has built its identity around extremely simple exploration and collection mechanics. Set in a sparse, space-themed environment, the game places players in control of a small, drifting character with the singular objective of locating scattered items across a wide but largely empty map. On the surface, the premise carries a slightly surreal tone, but the actual experience quickly settles into a very straightforward routine that prioritizes accessibility and ease of completion over depth or variety. The gameplay loop is as direct as it gets. Players move freely across the environment, scanning the terrain for a limited number of collectibles placed throughout the map. There are no enemies, no puzzles, and no meaningful interaction systems beyond movement and item collection. This makes the game immediately approachable, as there is nothing to learn or master. At the same time, it means that the experience offers very little beyond its initial concept. Once the player understands the objective, the remainder of the game becomes a matter of methodically covering ground until all items are found. …
