Even as far as the low standards of the Sad Virus franchise go, this particular title has a needlessly big level that's painfully dark to a degree you have to guess where the bottles might be. Towards the end of the level, there are no traps to use to respawn at the provided checkpoint, forcing extra detours. I guess the only positive I could highlight is that the framerate is relatively stable.4 found this helpful

Warning: Asset Flip!
Sad Virus Waterland is an asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", Valkeala Software/Tero Lunkka, took the Sharur's Underwater Temple game assets from the real developers, Sharur, changed the name, and dumped the result onto Steam. They're attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else's work. This asset flip also contains the much-abused "Sucker Virus" character from PolyNext. Valkeala Software/Tero Lunkka has shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. Actual trash. $1 for a random mashup of Unreal Engine assets you can slowly walk through (literally). It's the same regurgitated slop over and over again.4 found this helpful
Nice 3D-Platformer / Adventure. + I liked those hyper high jumps - Some dark areas, hard to see? Achievements, 100% / ~30min.3 found this helpful
Sad Virus Waterland is a short experimental exploration platformer that mixes simple collectible hunting, environmental hazards, and surreal aquatic environments into a strangely atmospheric indie experience. Developed by Valkeala Software, the game continues the unusual “Sad Virus” series with another minimalist adventure focused on traversal and achievement collection rather than complex storytelling or deep gameplay systems. Although the project is clearly small in scope and budget, it still manages to create a mildly memorable experience through its strange presentation, water-themed environments, and surprisingly challenging platforming sections. The premise is intentionally straightforward. Players enter a bizarre “Waterland” environment where the main objective is to locate eight hidden beer bottles scattered throughout the map. Each bottle unlocks a corresponding achievement, making exploration and completion the central focus of the game. Instead of guiding players through a narrative-heavy adventure, Sad Virus Waterland places emphasis on environmental navigation, hazard avoidance, and discovering hidden areas across its surreal aquatic landscape.
