SCP: Permafrost

An ambitious an fun Souls-lite for people who know a thing or two about the fandom.

Great game, pretty buggy, but the overall gameplay is peak.

Right off the bat, I want to say that SCP: Permafrost absolutely nails the Soulsborne atmosphere. As someone who considers Elden Ring and the Soulsborne saga in general some of my favorite games of all time, that's probably the biggest compliment I can give it. The game opens by giving you the barest amount of information you need, while still giving you enough to understand your motivation: The SCP Foundation has fallen. The Scarlet King has brought about the end of the world, killing over half of the world's population and destroying the sun. Its corpse now hangs dead in the sky, emitting no warmth and leaving the Earth covered in permafrost. SCP-231-7, who is prophesied to give birth to the last and most powerful of the Scarlet King's children, The Prince, is nowhere to be found. Our character awakens deep within the bowels of an abandoned Foundation facility, wrapped in a blue cloak and wielding a mysterious sword called the Void Blade. They have no memory of what happened before they woke up. They soon encounter the daughter of an ancient and powerful nature goddess called SCP-166, also known as Meri, a kindred of the Scarlet King. She tasks the protagonist with finding SCP…

This game has potential to be really good, from the little bit there is so far it is pretty fun. Although I did play through this in multiplayer and did find a bug, if you kill a Dr. Faud while not everyone is in the room then all players who both did not kill Dr. Faud in their own save file and were not in the room when it died will be softlocked whenever they enter the room.
