About Shift'n Slay

Shift’n Slay is an amped-up turn-based tactical roguelike, where you fight your way through a cyberpunk hell step by step, trying to break a time loop engineered by corporate bastards. Every turn is a puzzle, every attack—a deadly chain reaction. Mistakes are fatal.

Tactics or Death – Always Stay a Step Ahead

Enemies don’t wait around, and your resources are limited. You can't just mash an "attack" button—every move counts. Will you take a tactical position or charge in headfirst? Save your ammo for later turns or risk it all to finish the enemy now?

Build Your Perfect Killer

Become a storm of lead, mowing down enemies from a distance. Or choose the path of the unstoppable brute, crushing foes in close combat. Maybe you're a tech assassin, setting traps and enhancing yourself with stimulants? Build your killer to match your playstyle.

Arm Yourself to the Teeth

Love grenades, mines, and traps? They’re yours. Want to stun enemies with paralyzing rounds? No problem. Prefer a deployable shield and auto-healing? Stay indestructible.

Combo or Die

Every kill grants you another turn. Chain together your abilities, weapons, and the environment to eliminate enemies before they can react. Get it right, and you'll drop an entire squad in one brutal move.

The Battlefield is Never the Same

Level layouts shift, enemy positions change. Adapt or die.

Ready? Then shatter the loop, crush your enemies, and rip reality apart.

Its a fun little game and i would say a decent debut game for an indie studio, its kind of a short game but its not like its expensive, gameplay wise its really well done but the rouge like aspect is lacking cause the changes in the scenarios are minimal and barely noticeable so if you pay attention after a while you can steamroll them with a consistent strategy, i hope if the studio decides to do another game in the genre they expand on this aspect, overall a pretty fun but somewhat short game

Shift'n Slay, developed and published by DREBOT game studio, is a tightly constructed tactical roguelike that blends turn-based combat with a relentless, puzzle-like demand for efficiency. Set against a stark cyberpunk backdrop, the game places the player in a brutal time loop where survival is less about endurance and more about precision. Every encounter is engineered to feel dangerous, and every decision carries consequences that ripple through the remainder of a run, making Shift’n Slay a game that rewards careful thought far more than impulsive action. The core of the experience revolves around grid-based, turn-based combat where positioning, sequencing, and target prioritization are everything. Unlike many tactics games that allow room for defensive play or slow attrition, Shift’n Slay pushes players toward aggressive optimization. The signature mechanic—earning additional turns for every enemy killed—defines the entire rhythm of combat. Success comes from planning lethal chains where one kill enables the next, creating a cascading flow of actions that can wipe out entire enemy groups in a single, well-executed sequence. When these chains work, the result feels exhilarating,…

hardcore tactics, but forcing you to go through the same levels "like we have a roguelike here" without the slightest changes in the tactical game is strange, and leaving you without ammo and without the ability to somehow get it in the run (while the enemy chews them with his ass, take them as much as you want) is very strange. There is no particular motivation to go through the same levels 10 times, with the same bosses that you have already knocked down earlier with the prospect of being left without bloody ammo (yes, pots and chairs help, but it's still too much), it is not clear what bonuses for ammunition will open and what needs to be done for this. It reminded me a little of old-school Budokan (a fighting game from the 80s), where they also limited the number of fighting styles/weapons used in the "run", like "train to knock everyone down with your bare hands if you want to go further." Here too, apparently you need to jack off each level to the point of vomiting, and then maybe there will be enough ammo for +2 levels to the current achievement.

This game is not roguelike, it's about pure luck. In other games of this type (I've played like 6 or 7 roguelikes, so, I have experience to compare) you become stronger after ANY finished try, no mater, lost you, or won. In this game, the only way to upgrade your character is killing bosses (if you are lucky enough) or grinding 25/100/250 kills (to be honestly, those upgrades are not super helpful). Want to succeed? Just hope to get right boosters between missions, otherwise, you're cooked, LOL.

This fun tactical based roguelike that is great for the brain with solid meta progression and a cool cyberpunk aesthetic. https://youtu.be/FXBBwWBPj7A

good game, good vibe, good voice acting - but optimization is not good. from high settings with 100 fps to ultra at 35 fps? my PC also turns into a plane on high settings. FPS limiter would be much appreciated.
