big improvement in all aspect from the first game, the weapons, the ennemy, the style is great. there is still improvement to make such as pacing making the game fell like a boss rush at time, more ennemy in some levels would not hurt. I had some freezing on the last phase of the last boss and i feel like the start of the game got more care into it than the ending. Still a wonderful experience that i recommend even more knowing its free.

i liked shrine 2 a lot it feels like it really improved from the first game better weapons better enemies better level design and especially much better bosses and i do have some small nitpicks like levels being little too short and the final boss really having bad lagging issues but overall pretty good game big thumbs up

REALLY GOOD GAME IF YOU LIKE DOOM/QUAKE ABOUT 2 TO 4 HOURS OF GAMEPLAY DEPENDING ON YOURE DIFFICULTY LEVEL DESIGN 8/10 LOOK REALY GOOD ARE STRAIGHTFORWARD BUT THERE WERE A COUPLE LEVELS I WAS JUST WANDERING AROUND FOR 5 TO 10 MINUTES UNSURE OF WHERE TO GO GUNS 9/10 THERE IS 15 ISH THEY ALL FEEL REALLY GOOD TO USE BUT THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SMMO FOR THE SHOTGUN MAINLY SND THE RAILGUN LESSER SO IT FEELS LIKE YOU RARELY GET TO USE THE SHOTGUN BECAUSE OF HOW FAST THE AMMO GOES ENAMIES 8/10 THEIR ALL REALLY GOOD EXCEPT FOR THE FINAL BOSSES LAST STAGE KIND OF RUINED THE GAME FOR ME HONESTLY BECAUSE IT TANKS YOUR FRAMERATE AND IS WAY TOO HARD IN MY OPINION I DIDNT EVEN END UP BESTING IT STORY 7/10 ITS THE SAME AS DOOM WHERE IT GIVES YOU A FEW PARAGRAPHS OF STORY TEXT HERE AND THERE. OVERALL IT HAD SOME JANK BUT WHAT GAME DOESNT ID SAY OVERALL IF YOU EXCLUDE THE LAST STAGE OF THE FINAL BOSS ID GIVE IT A 9/10

"First person shooter made in the doom engine" is a bit misleading. Selaco is a first person shooter made in the doom engine, this one is just a glorified total conversion mod, and a not really good one at that. I liked the soundtrack, the artstyle and the arsenal, but ammunition is incredibly scarce, and unlike in normal doom, the small enemies don't drop ammo for your bread-and-butter weapons. The mod tries to solve this issue by having multiple ranged weapons with practically infinite ammo, but all this achieves is that the optimal way of playing becomes to hide in a corner, spam quicksaves and slowly chipping away at the health of the very spongy enemies. The levels tend to look quite boring, because this game really likes big open areas, but in those areas there's no variation in the textures used. The level design isn't good either, it's serviceable at best, and infuriating at the worst. At one point, the game expected me to have a grenade to activate a hidden lever to progress, but i didn't have any, so i had to use noclip to resolve the lock. Conclusion: Just play FreeDoom. Also: This game features the tankiest dog enemy in all of video game history.

Shrine II is an interesting DOOM port that is quite difficult. I picked the difficulty the one above Ultra Violence, and it was quite difficult. The ammunition and health is scarce which makes it quite hard. Not knowing and going in to level 2 of episode 1, it becomes almost impossible with low health. Thank goodness there's save and load the game. Now for my playthrough I played on PC, and for whatever reason, even after unbinding or rebinding my controls, it did not manage to dive in the water to get the 3rd key in the 3rd stage making me unable to continue the game which is unfortunate, because honestly, I was enjoying it!
