✦ AI summary
Players praise the game's unique mechanics, solid voice acting, and atmospheric horror that delivers genuine scares, with particular appreciation for its indie charm and PS1-era aesthetic. However, many feel the $14.99 price point is unjustifiable for what amounts to a short experience with balance and clarity issues, particularly noting that later nights become frustratingly difficult without clear feedback on what causes failure, and that some mechanics feel underdeveloped after an interesting setup.
Tried this game out, for a solo project its really well made from what i played so far a few unique mechanics you don't see often in newer games cant wait to see what becomes of this in later patches, i will continue to play this as i do enjoy horror games quite a bit a few times i got spooked Keep up the good work also side note the voice acting is actually really good as well it doesn't seem out of place or scattered like some other indie/solo projects Props to the Dev on this one4 found this helpful
I really wish Steam had a Neutral recommendation option, because this is one of those games that truly deserves it. Alright, so... it starts off interesting, with the “chores” or daily routine mechanic, followed by the nightly survival segments in your cabin in the woods. During the day, you prepare for the night ahead. As more days pass, new types of monsters appear that you’ll need to avoid or defend your home from. It’s an interesting premise, and I wish the game had built further on that idea. Keeping that aspect of survival horror. Its something like "I’m on Observation Duty" or any of these type of games. Anyway, the main quest took me to an underground facility with an evil scientist responsible for creating all the mythical forest creatures. Was that really necessary? Couldn’t it have just stuck with tat survival horror concept, the chores and the tension of keeping yourself alive? Why did it have to turn into this over-the-top “clown fiesta” slop story? It could’ve been something genuinely unique, but it ended up turning itself into a weak horror slop with its ending. Still, for a first game and for its interesting take I’ll give it a positive review rather than a ne…2 found this helpful
Some unique game mechanics. This is why I love indie games, Not afraid to try something new! Some of us older gamers feel the nostalgia of the PS1 era graphics while those who enjoy a suspenseful game like FNAF will find a home here. I hope this to be the first of a longer game series. <3 Full disclaimer i'm only on night two and ♥♥♥♥ scared :(2 found this helpful
Good first horror game from an indie dev, nice art style, but none of that justifies the price tag. If the game were $5 I'd say it's just about worth it, but even then it has polish and balancing issues. I found the third night to be nearly impossible and gave up because I kept dying without knowing what the problem was (I finished the first two without a problem). The biggest problem imo was that when you died, it wasn't clear who you died to, and thus what you did wrong. Also I think there were times when it would glitch and put the deer and wolf creature at the same window, so you couldn't deal with either properly because they require opposite responses. There was also a glitch on day 2 where I accidentally pressed G while finding my way back to the cabin and it jumped straight into the night time sequence. So if you want to support a new indie dev, the price tag is basically the value of the game plus a donation, if you just want an interesting game to play, you'll get a much better deal elsewhere.1 found this helpful
