About Silent Stay
Silent Stay
Dive into the unsettling world of Silent Stay, a narrative horror game with psychological elements. You step into the role of Alex Miller, a writer who has rented a remote cabin in the woods to finally finish his book. The cabin seems perfect: far from the city, no neighbors, just you and your thoughts. But after just a few days, strange events begin to accumulate that make you question your sanity.Experience Alex's Story
You experience the events in the cabin live from Alex's perspective as the strange and increasingly disturbing incidents unfold before your eyes. The story is rich with subtle clues and shocking twists, complemented by mysterious notes, eerie sounds, and other details that Alex discovers in real-time.
Atmospheric Horror
- Psychological Tension: A growing sense of unease created by inexplicable events and a dark, oppressive atmosphere.
- Mix of Subtle and Intense: Horror elements range from creeping discomfort to sudden shocks, maintaining constant tension.
- Interactive Gameplay: Write, explore the cabin and more – until nothing seems normal anymore.
- Carefully Crafted Horror: Every event is precisely designed to draw you deeper into the dark narrative.
- No Enemies, Only Fear: There's no classic monster chasing you. The threat is subtle, psychological, and omnipresent.

Silent Stay had some interesting ideas, but the pacing completely killed the experience for me. The game constantly makes you walk through dark forests for several minutes just to trigger a few seconds of actual gameplay before sending you all the way back again. Visually and audibly it also feels very inconsistent. Areas are either extremely overexposed or completely dark, and many sounds are difficult to locate properly, which hurts the atmosphere more than it helps. Ironically, the biggest highlight ended up being the voice acting of Klaus (and the man/creature after the credits). The heavy German accent while speaking English gave the game some unintentionally hilarious moments that were honestly more entertaining than the horror itself. --- Step deeper into the darkness — discover more horror gems and nightmares. 💀 Follow our curator page: Sanctum of Horror 🎮 Watch the horrors unfold live on Twitch 📺 Full playthroughs & reactions on YouTube2 found this helpful
