About Skeleseller

Story

Your dream was to be an adventurer. You were out questing one day when you encountered a poisonous snake. You won the fight handily, but the poison started wearing you down. You headed to the nearest town, but with no antidote actually there for sale, you died. You come back as a skeleton. You decide that your fate should never beset another adventurer. Unfortunately, with your adventuring career behind you, you need to recruit others to gather loot for you. Hire adventurers, send them into battle, acquire loot, and SELL, SELL, SELL! 💸 Use the gold you get to upgrade your town and adventurers.

Gameplay

Skeleseller is laid-back and casual:
  • There's nothing to rush you in the game, so take things at your own pace.
  • Experiment! You can change adventurer skills for free.
Skeleseller also bucks the trends of traditional idle games:
  • Finite gameplay: you won't be waiting for hours or days to unlock the next big upgrade! The demo contains ~20-30 minutes of gameplay. The full game has ~5 hours for Story Mode and another ~5 hours for an extra mode that you can unlock. 🤫
  • No scientific notation needed—numbers stay within the realm of human understandability.
  • No systems just for the sake of them: prestige/ascensions, experience points, and equipment are eschewed in favor of mechanics crafted for Skeleseller's design philosophy: keep the game fun and casual.
While most of the game is automated, you'll perform high-level actions like:
  • Hiring adventurers, forming parties with them, and choosing where they'll battle
  • Leveling up adventurers and choosing their skills
  • Prioritizing how you want to develop and upgrade your town
  • Helping out occasionally—stock shops or harvest crops manually to speed things up

Good for a playthrough. However, there really isn't anything when you beat the story. No ever-ramping difficulty makes you put the game down. However, for the time you do play the story, it is a satisfying idle experience.

Short and sweet!!! Very fun and addictive. Wish it was larger.

A very enjoyable strategy game for fans of idle-batlers. The story mode takes about 4-5 hours to finish, and completing all the extra modes and achievements took me around 20 hours. I really liked the class synergies and how different bosses encouraged me to change my build instead of using the same strategy all the time. The gameplay is relaxing and surprisingly satisfying. I definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre.

solid game, wish there was a little more of it but worth it for the price

Charming enough game, but the base game is super short. The alternative game mode isn't as much fun as the base game, and doesn't really provide a new experience other than, "Wow, let's be rAnDoM!" Added to my disappointment was the high initial price. The dev since brought down the price, but it bothers me that I (and many others) basically paid twice as much just for being enough of a fan to purchase it when it came out. Talk about having your loyalty rewarded.... Maybe things would be better if more content were made or another more interesting mode were added. As it is, even at the new price, I may still say take a pass unless you're really excited for these types of games. Wait for a sale.
