"Skylost" must be a student project or something. This is a simple platforming adventure game with a minor crafting element as you progress through a linear slog of floating islands, doing a little bit of 3D platforming. Mario Galaxy, this is not, however, the whole thing can be finished easily in less than 10 minutes. What do you do in the game? 3D platforming, pick up a couple of things to make a grappling hook, etc... I'm sure this must be a student project. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves …

wonderful premise, but entirely too short. would love to see an expansion on this. treat this like a demo.

The game feels a bit buggy sometimes, like the time I got stuck in a mushroom while climbing a rope, collected the mushroom and ended up being tossed high in the air like from a sling. Still, the game is doing it's best at what it should do: it entertains, it offers some challenge and it tells a story. In it's brief game time it got me invested in the games world and its characters story line. Hope that this project gets more love and motivates creators to continue work on it. PS. Didn't manage to find any easter eggs(

"find your missing love, Amelia and save her from her fate" - TL;DR It doesn't get that far. Really really short tech demo for a grappling hook mechanic that almost works, in that it can be bouncy and a little inconsistent. Boulders either can't be walked on or you go right through them. I was hoping the grapple would be used more for swinging but, in my playthrough, it was only used to ascend. Rather than crafting multiple copies of the hook, that part should instead craft longer versions of the rope! However, the extra copies do become usepul when the character lets go for no reason or the hook gets stuck & can't be picked up. This could be avoided by doing the Far Cry think and making the 'Let go' option return the entire line back to you. Doing so would also enable using it in a swing action. The cloaking device is way to short to be useful, health containers are thrown out rather than reused, the backpack at the start cannot be collected, and once the glider is unlocked, being picked up & dropped by the birds becomes an assistance rather than a hinderance. It was really fun but ends way too quickly, and there's no 'open world' mode to just run around with the grapple & glid…
