'Slay the Dragon!' is currently a finalist for The Rookies and the Student BAFTA Awards!"Slay the Dragon!" is a 3rd year student project from The Animation Workshop in Denmark.
SYNOPSIS
When Maj wishes for her little brother to disappear, a dragon swoops down to abduct him. Now, in order to rescue her little brother, Maj must traverse a fantastical landscape, overcome mighty foes, and ultimately reach the dragon's lair in order to slay her nemesis.
"Slay the Dragon!" is an isometric hack and slash game inspired by old school adventure games and the Swedish countryside. It is a fun game with a gorgeous artstyle, beautiful music and an overall mood of nostalgia. "Slay the Dragon!" is a game suitable for all ages, but more importantly, it is targeted towards anyone who wishes to re-experience the wonders of childhood imagination.
EXPLORE
Explore a fantastical landscape – golden fields, deep forests, waterfalls, high mountain peaks and treacherous caves – as you fight your way to your arch nemesis, the Dragon
COMBAT
Use an array of combos to defeat every enemy daring to stand in your way – from tiny chestnuts to enormous stone giants!
COLLECT
Be sure to pick up every juicy hallon berry you come across – perhaps collecting them all will change something at the ending?

This game is fan-freaking-tastic. It looks great, is super cute, and plays very, very well. The ending made me smile. This is the kind of game that could cheer you up on a bad day. If you like light-hearted games, and are a fan of a good action RPG(lite), you need to check this game out. A playthrough only takes 30-45 minutes, and it's free, so no excuses.1 found this helpful

Slay the Dragon! is a free-to-play action-adventure title developed by Slay the Dragon!-Team and published by The Animation Workshop. Created as a student project, it delivers a surprisingly polished fantasy experience that demonstrates how creativity and strong artistic direction can overcome a limited scope. Rather than aiming to be a sprawling role-playing epic, the game tells a focused fairy tale centered on Maj, a determined young girl whose careless wish results in her younger brother being kidnapped by a fearsome dragon. Driven by guilt and courage, she embarks on a perilous journey through a magical world in hopes of bringing him home. The game's greatest strength lies in its presentation. Every environment is designed with a colorful, storybook-inspired visual style that captures the charm of classic fantasy adventures. Drawing inspiration from Scandinavian landscapes, players travel through lush forests, rocky mountain paths, peaceful valleys, mysterious caves, and other beautifully crafted locations that make exploration consistently enjoyable. Short and simple game, had a lot of fun. Idk why Steam only says that i've played 0.8 hours beacause i've beaten this like 6 times. Would recommend it if you want a short experience with some strategy
Enjoyable if you want something to play for half an hour. Not much more.
