✦ AI summary

Sokoban: The RPG features well-crafted puzzles that challenge players, though opinions vary significantly on their quality and difficulty balance. While some appreciate the puzzle design and find the game engaging, others criticize repetitive puzzle types, poor level design, slow pacing, and a lack of meaningful difficulty progression or hint system when players get stuck. The RPG elements are minimal, making this primarily a pure puzzle game despite its genre mashup premise.

Difficulty : 4.5/5 (Extremely Hard) Global : 3.5/5 (Very Good) My website : The Review Principle Curator page : Anokturnus Sokoban: The RPG was supposed to be a troll birthday gift from a friend who thought this cheap-looking and weird genre mix would be very questionable. Well, this is still partially true but Sokoban: The RPG hides a number of very well crafted puzzles that will make anyone's head hurt. Sokoban: The RPG is supposed to be an adventure full of puzzles with RPG elements, but in reality this is just a pure puzzle game. I guess there's a story and sometimes you can find a few items that are all used for one event, so it's not like there is no "RPG" at all, but yeah. The puzzle side of this game is the purest form of sokoban, there is absolutely no special mechanics to use or tricks to find. Just rooms with rocks you need to push and bring on the stone floor tiles, then the exit unlocks and you can go to the next puzzle. This is both a strength and a weakness as it allows the puzzles to thoroughly explore this basic concept and reach insanely high difficulty…

it was fun -- never had to use a hint or a skip -- until I hit 4 almost-identical puzzles in a row and got stuck. There are no hints for the sokoban puzzles or even the semblance of a learning curve for that section.

2/5 Too many repetitive puzzle types.

This is, by far, the most boring Sokoban I have ever played. Slow, uninspiring and plain bad. The level design isn't good, the art used could be considered medium at best and you'll sleep from its pacing. Unlike other sokobans, this one has no redeeming qualities and not even well-designed puzzles. For more reviews, follow my curator https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44864435-Mewesome-Reviews/
