It’s a bit rough, but there’s definitely something here. Just spent a few hours with Soul Trigger, and my feelings are... complicated. But in a good way, I think? - Visuals: The art is actually pretty solid. It’s got a cool aesthetic that kept me staring at the screen. It’s probably the strongest part of the game right now. - The Combat: The whole simultaneous turn-based thing is a bit of a trip. At first, I was like, "Wait, what am I even doing?" It’s definitely awkward at the start, but as you keep playing, it starts to make sense. It’s unique, though it still feels a bit clunky in its current state. - The Verdict: Look, the game clearly has some "growing pains." There are definitely parts that feel unpolished or just a little off. But honestly? The early-game hook is surprisingly strong. There’s a spark of potential here that I can't ignore. I really hope the devs keep grinding and smooth out the edges. It’s not quite a "must-play" yet, but it’s 100% worth keeping an eye on.

I'm obsessed with the strategic depth here. Analyzing patterns and landing counters feels amazing—huge dopamine hit! One gripe: Some tutorials could be clearer, and the menu navigation feels a little clunky. If you can push past the initial friction, there's a brilliant RPG underneath. Definitely worth a try for hardcore tactics fans!

Soul Trigger is an ambitious combination of various genres smashed together to make a very fun experience. You can play up to 4 different characters with up to 8 different abilities and many forms of customization. You enter a run with a pair of them and any 4 abilities of your choosing for each to synergize a selection of turn-based tactics. There is exploring which currently consists of basic movement, jumping, and interacting along with combat on a 1.5-dimensional plane, where you fight a decent variety of enemies. This is a rougelite in its current state with random upgrade traits as rewards for combat, a shop for rerolls, items, and healing, and unique enemy encounters. Pros: - Fun and engaging combat. - Many ways to enter a run via character ability customization, character selection, and useful stat augmentation. - A lot of cool trait upgrades to play around in a run to solidify particular playstyles. - Wide array of items you can pick up that can heavily influence the tide of battles if used correctly. - Abilities, enemies, and settings look appealing. - Good sound design. Early Access Cons (that they are working on): - UI needs a ton of work for the game to play perfec…

-I think the combination of 2D characters and a 3D background helps convey the story’s atmosphere more effectively. -Since it uses a simultaneous turn-based system, I initially felt some resistance to it. However, as I continued playing, the fast pacing made it feel quite engaging, and I came to think that this approach works well. Additionally, the UI that shows the current status was very helpful in getting used to the system. -It was a bit disappointing that the number of characters and cards was limited, but I think it will improve if more are added. Also, I think it would be nice if events could occur during battles.

A strange game, but recommended with a discount. First impression is disencouraging: poor trailer, acid colours, degenerated art, doubtful desing choices for camera movement and text appearance, lack of QoL UI features (say, open map with M, close with ESC? Like, seriously? Why not M again?) First run is plain dumb — you steamroll until the second boss and get owned miserably. Turns out there are upgrades and other characters? I've opened only one more. Because once the upgrades are even partially done you start laughing at enemies. Four bosses in a row? No sweat. Main protagonist does them alone, without taking a step, in three consequent chain shots. All AP restored after each shot. Zero balance. Probably an easy difficulty that can be increased later? Unfortunately it gets stale before that. Still, decent lore. Unique simultaneous TB combat. Memorable personalities. All-in-all will do for a couple of evenings.

Not bad but lacks a lot of quality of life mechanics that could make me recommend it the combat is fun with attacks that move you or the enemy and it feels original and fun but offensive items dont deal damage they only can stun a enemy once per battle making them near useless against bosses because of how much health they have and moving around the same area feels less like exploring the area and more like the game wants to waste my time unless there is a teleport function I didnt see.
