Space Crew: Legendary Edition

I didn't enjoy bomber crew and I didn't enjoy space crew either.

Space Crew is yet another one of those games that makes me yearn for Steam to implement a middle "Eh" option; the reasoning being that Space Crew isn't a bad game, far from it - you can see a lot of love went into it and it's a tight experience, but it's also a rather shallow experience; there isn't much to do in the moment to moment gameplay really, with the game mostly playing itself outside of using abilities and marking targets, and as a result just kinda feeling boring. Now if it's boring and I'm calling it's gameplay loop shallow, why am I rating it up? Because nothing it does is egregiously good or bad; it's so middling in every category I just don't feel right saying that you -shouldn't- buy it. Would I ever say to someone that it's a game they -need- to play or worth the price of admission? God no, but it's by no means a -Bad- game and if it's your time of game, or you decide to pick it up for whatever reason, you're likely to have an enjoyable enough time.

Space Crew was a fun little crew management game for the 14 hours it took me to complete the campaign and obtain all the achievements. Like all "Crew" games, the gameplay gets repetitive the longer that you play it. Other than skills and unlockable ship upgrades, the core gameplay is no different from the first mission to the last. Despite this, the game didn't overstay its welcome and I was engaged enough by chasing upgrades and completing the story that I stuck with the game to the end. Recommended on sale.

[b][i] Space Crew [/i][/b] is an amazing strategy game that makes you feel like you're actually in charge of a spaceship and its crew. By combining exploration, combat, resources and crew management, it forces you to make important decisions. The game has a charming visual style, plenty of missions, and a great variety of situations to keep things interesting. Managing your crew while keeping the ship operational creates a satisfying gameplay loop.
