About Spellarium 5

Eric has found a way to restore his youth ( see details in the Spellarium #4 ), but he’s lost the ability to control the Elements - throwing everything off balance. As a result, the Spellarium, the magic crystal which maintains order, has fallen to the bottom of a huge lake. The world is rapidly turning into a frozen wasteland and it seems nothing can melt the ice and lift the Crystal...

This Spellarium introduces several changes to the Match3 game mechanics, one of which is the Toggle Button. Use it to switch between different areas of the level. Additionally, as usual, this Spellarium includes some skippable bonus games such as Solitaire, Mahjong, Spot the Difference, and Hidden Objects. Of course, there's also a story to follow and a town to build!

I originally got this elsewhere, but decided to buy it again because this is one of my favorite games of the Spellarium series. There are a bunch of these games now, and even more in the other 2 series this developer does (Laruaville, Cursed House) in which you must remove obstacles in some pattern to obtain all the coins. If you enjoy more challenging puzzles with your M3 games, this one rivals some of the hardest Cursed House games because it's possible to make solving a level far more difficult if you do things in the wrong order. This was also the first game to introduce the toggle gates, which close off sections of the board. Later games have a more sophisticated gate mechanic, but in this game, the cascades can be as much a pain as pleasure with tripping the gates. You have 110 M3-puzzle levels in which the goal is always to obtain all the coins, and tons of minigames (mahjong, solitaire, spot the difference scenes, and hidden object scenes) of which one appears about every 3 levels. The newer feature of being able to replay levels on demand wasn't introduced yet, so beware of skipping any levels if you're a completionist. I also get a chuckle out of the scene to b…

"Spellarium 5" is a great match-3 game with emphasis on minigames (solitaire, Mahjong, hidden object games and find the differences). It runs flawlessly and it will stimulate your brain! A very tricky match-3 with power-ups and unique ways to solve the puzzles. See what happens after the events of Spellarium 4, as Eric has lost the Spellarium (the crystal to control the Elements) in the bottom of the lake and everything is turning into ice without anything being able to stop it.. The levels themselves are hard but leave an impression and above all they are fun. So you will be glad it wasn't a piece of cake that required no thinking and ended in 10 minutes. The visual effects, animations and music will help a lot in keeping you calm and focused on the task at hand. If you are stuck, you can use the hint system, which I find very good, comprehensive and helpful. On top of that, they have added a beautifully crafted grimoire as help. It will keep you busy for hours but without overstaying its welcome and you can always replay it due to its nature. Featuring different modes, minigames and building your town! One of the most fun and intriguing match-3 puzzle games out there. For mor…

I have played four previous Spellarium games and really enjoyed them. I would have continued playing more, but I put this game on my laptop and I was going to play future editions to play during lunch at work. Then, I realized that you have to be online to start the game. I cannot, and will not ever give a positive review to any dev that requires a single player game to be online! There's absolutely no GOOD reason why this is beneficial to the player! It's just a match-3 game! I also have a couple of other match-3 games form LGT SIA that requires I be online. It looks like every game from them does this! No more LGT SIA games for me. I'm done!
