About Star Trek: Starfleet Command Gold Edition
Finally, a starship combat game worthy of the name Star Trek.
Star Trek: Starfleet Command puts you in the captain’s chair for an amazing real-time space combat experience.
Pledge your allegiance to the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Hydran Kingdom, the Gorn Confederation or the Lyran Star Empire.
Every good tactician knows there's a fine balance between speed and raw power. Choose from four classes of ships and over 50 3-D rendered hull designs.
Experience a 30-year campaign that takes you from Lieutenant Commander of a Frigate to a Rear Admiral in control of a task force including Destroyers, Heavy Cruisers and Dreadnoughts.
Multi-function display panels offer instant access to critical systems: Sensors, Weapons, Shields, Transporters, Marines, Mines, Engineering, Science and Energy Management.
Challenge yourself with dozens of unique missions created by the Dynaverse engine or re-enact classic scenarios from the Original Series.
Numerous multi-player options include “Pass the Tribble” and cooperative Starbase Assault with up to six players. Or go head-to-head over various network connections.

Missiles are way too overpowered and ruin the gameplay. They have a 360 degree fire arc, take no power to charge and have a way higher hit ratio then for example photon torpedo's. Defenses against missiles are easily overwhelmed and also cost energy. On paper missiles have limited ammunition but in practice it's cheap to stock up on them.1 found this helpful
This was such a great game back in the day, and one of the first I bought for PC. It is still as fun now as it was back then, at least for me. And sure, that's probably due to nostalgia and my love for Star Trek before 2009, but I loved getting in Romulan ships once again and getting into real-time skirmishes. Playing this on a modern system has its issues. While the gameplay is fine and runs well, you will run into some problems if you need to switch windows or play on a multi-monitor setup.
it kicks me out in the middle of a mission, how to stop that?
I love this game. My late brother used to play the board game Starfleet Command with his friends. I bought this game for Windows back in 2004, around there. I'm so happy it's in Steam now. It's the best ship to ship battle game there is, hands down.
crashes everytime
plays like a real time Star Fleet Battles.
