THE GAME OF GALACTIC DOMINION
You are a Starlord. In command of a planet but hungry for real power. Your ultimate aim: to control the entire Galaxy and enable your family dynasty to rule forever. But one thousand other Starlords have similar ambitions!
At first, you'll concentrate on flying Starfighters and leading your forces in exciting 3-D battles. Then, you'll realize that the true path to success also involves diplomatic, planning and trading skills. Eventually, when you have secured your power base, you'll take your first steps up the feudal hierarchy. You must plan your strategy, weigh up the strengths and weaknesses of rivals, form favourable alliances then strike with all your might!
Success will extend the reach of your power across the Galaxy, allowing new treaties; generating new wealth. You can then install clan members on new planets under your control and summon vassal Lords to add their forces to your crusades of conquest. But beware, as your power increases, so does the price the others put on your head!

[b]Starlord[/b] is an ambitious game with some interesting ideas, but it’s hampered by clunky execution and especially dull combat. Released in the mid-'90s, this space strategy and management hybrid had potential, but the gameplay doesn’t hold up for long. [hr][/hr] [h3][b]Gameplay[/b][/h3] At its core, you manage a star empire: balancing resources, dealing with rival warlords, and trying to dominate the galaxy. You oversee trade routes, planetary economies, and espionage. On paper, it sounds amazing. But in practice, everything feels slow and cumbersome. The menus are clunky, and the UI is dated even by '90s standards. The space battles are where things really fall apart. They’re real-time but lack depth or excitement. Imagine moving blobs around a screen while vaguely trying to shoot at other blobs. That’s the combat experience here—more of a chore than a challenge. [list] [*][b]Management Side[/b]: Pretty solid. You assign governors, build fleets, and negotiate with factions. [*][b]Combat[/b]: Straight-up boring. The mechanics are too basic, and there’s no sense of satisfaction when you win a fight. Starlord!... Who? Anyway. It is more like an early space 4x game with a touch of family. By today's standards, it is clunky, and you need to read the 70-page-long manual first just to know what's happening. But still, if you have the patient, it is a unique experience1 found this helpful
This is a classic game kinda like Reunion and Alien Legacy I want to say. Its also got fighter flight sim stuff like Wing Commander and its also a space version of Medieval Lords and Feudalism. Its kinda like Game of Thrones in space. But you should get it on sale. Its lacking in some areas1 found this helpful
