Starters Orders Touch is a deep horse racing simulation with a 2D race sequence that focuses on the racing, betting and basic stable management. I have Starters Orders 7 and that has 3D races but a less advanced sim. Touch has better race schedule and new features. SO7 being 3D means there is the option to ride your horse and you don’t have the jockey option with this game guess because it's 2D but it would be nice anyway. So you pay your money you take your choice. I'm more into the simulation side so this is good and the simulation aspect to both these games is far ahead of the competition. If you enjoy the nags and enjoy strategy games then buy it. The game has breeding, betting, international races and all the correct UK race categories and terminology and is a realistic portrayal of the sport. Great game.16 found this helpful
Even though SO Touch is considered a prelude of SO8, edit function should not be removed from this version. The last version, SO7, has edit function of the race schedule and players can adjust race schedule based on their needs. I would love to see that function again if SO8 is fully and correctly ready. Another thing about Japan race schedule would be some missing and wrong group race, the most bizarre one would be Takarazuka Kinen. I suppose that is Group 1 race rather than Group 3 and also Japan 2000 Guineas should be 2000 metres instead of 1600. I am not sure if their email address has gone or no response, I tried to contact them but in vain.12 found this helpful
Love it! 9/10 and with little tweaks to ui / info received from jockeys / staff would easily push it to 10 for me. If you like horse racing then starters orders is the most detailed horse game on the market. Massive fan of the game and cant wait for what the future holds if the jockey career is true (love SO7 jockey game play even though i don't get remarks from the race) The game might not be the most welcoming for new players or on the eye as there is a lot to take in but once you overcome that first hurdle (horse pun intended) then it grips you and all you want to do is find the right formula to get your horses nose in front. I love the breeding and the betting side of the game and have many seasons going past 2060.. I have thought many times i should upload videos to maybe help the new players as i feel the lack of content on Youtube is probs why its tough to pick this game up and run with it, maybe a in game manual to understand the stats/potential of a horse + a bit more detail on the pacifiers/Track going and how they effect the horses in a race could help + some more info from the head lad from gallops would be nice. However most the stuff that i would add all…9 found this helpful
