Enjoying this a lot - its a simplistic version of a Zachtronics manipulation/puzzle game. BTW not a bad thing; its a bit more accessible. Has three placeable movement elements: rotation, piston, and conveyor, If you have problems check out the excellent hint guide by eekz. It is janky sometimes where the process won't successfully complete even though its set up properly; carefully make sure that you don't have extra sub-steps. Every time I have had this problem it was due to something like closing the "hand" after it was already closed or movement in a direction its already moved.1 found this helpful
Wow that was very cool1 found this helpful
I'd like to be able to recommend this but currently it's too buggy. Two out of the first 5 puzzles are broken, with the proper solutions giving nonsense errors that even the dev can't explain (even after I emailed my save game to him, at his request).1 found this helpful
This is a tricky one the review. Sublime Element is dressed up as a construction puzzle game, but it essentially fails that premise - it's a bit more than a construction / automation themed placement puzzle game, but not by much. Most puzzles are solved by finding the right place of the elements as intended by the level designers, and there's only a very narrow margin and hardly any need for creative solutions. There's no real space for experimenting, and no motivation for improvement either - once you solved a task, it's solved and done, just like a puzzle, and not like a building experiment. To add to the suffering, the "programming" of the construction elements is sort of painful - the basis is pretty good, but in the first hour with the game, I came up with at least half a dozen UI / UX improvements that would make the game markedly better. While the visuals and the audio are decent, the only saving grace for the game is its price. Eventually, this is not a bad game, only not a very good one. It offers some decent, if not too high quality entertainment for a few hours, and for 2 EURs it's reasonable. Just don't expect anything (even remotely) like SpaceChem or Opus Magnum...
so.... on the one hand its only $2 on the other hand its kinda buggy, and I wasn't able to complete the last dual element level due to my rotator dissappering and then not letting me select anything despite relaunching the game. cant recommend in the current state
