About Sunken Stones

Sunken Stones is a turn-based Puzzle-Strategy game that immerses you in a world of pirates, cursed treasure, and strategic combat. Lead your crew of misfit pirates across treacherous seas, overcoming powerful foes by outsmarting them on a 5x5 grid. Choose your captain, build your crew, and use your cunning to unlock powerful combos and defeat sea monsters. Can you survive the curse and conquer the seas?

Key Features:

Choose Your Captain: Your journey begins by choosing a captain, each with unique abilities, starting health, and savvy—an essential resource for deploying crewmates. Your captain is the core of your team, as enemies only target them. Pick wisely to suit your playstyle and adapt to the threats ahead!

Build Your Crew: Rescue and recruit crewmates with unique skills and abilities to bolster your pirate force. Every crewmate brings something special to the fight—whether it’s unleashing devastating combo chains or supporting your captain in creative ways. Manage your crew carefully, as you can make crewmates walk the plank to bring in new recruits with even stronger potential!

Master Elemental Combat: Both captains and crewmates are aligned to one of three elements: Steel, Smoke, or Salt, each with its own mechanics and strategies:
  • Steel: The aggressive option, Steel focuses on boosting attack power, controlling positioning on the board, and utilizing extra savvy as a resource.
  • Smoke: The element of combos and trickery. Smoke uses ammo and can apply the Smoking debuff. Smoke excels in crowd control, affecting all enemies on the board and using knockback abilities.
  • Salt: For tactical minds, Salt specializes in controlling the battlefield, using health as a resource, and employing the Submerge mechanic, preventing enemies from attacking or being attacked. With careful planning, Salt can turn the tide of battle with precise strikes.

Collect Cursed Treasure and Manage the Curse: As you gather cursed treasure, your crew grows increasingly afflicted. Deploying afflicted crew members raises your curse meter, and if full by the end of a round, all Creeps on the board become stronger.

Dive into the world of Sunken Stones—where strategic thinking, careful crew management, and a sharp eye for combos will guide you through danger. Will you rise above the curse and become the master of the high seas? Or will your crew succumb to the sinister power of cursed treasure? The ocean awaits your command!

Very fun and addictive. I like the mechanic where you can change your hand/crew during battles and how it balances with the penalties you get from opening chests. I had to be careful with how I used the crew and give a well thought to the cards I needed with the captain I was playing. For later captains I was unlocking, the more challenging I found the game, but in the good way. Their advantages were interesting but their weaknesses were also more noticeable, so you play them with a different strategy. I recommend the game!

This is a really fun game that would be great on mobile! It took a few rounds to find the groove and learn the rules, but once it clicks I found the strategy to be surprisingly deep. The game gives the impression that it's going to be easy but then you quickly realize that every choice matters, even placing your units down on a board clear of enemies can make or break your run. Sunken Stones finds a good balance of simplicity and strategy. I'm not trying to get lost in the sauce with a game like Civ, but I also want a game that pushes back against me. Sunken Stones hits a good sweet spot. The runs end up taking longer than you'd expect. It's a fun game to kickback and play while sipping a drink and listening to a podcast/watching a stream. It should be noted that I've run into a couple of minor bugs but the developer is extremely attentive and would often implement a fix for my reports in under an hour. Nothing game breaking or experience souring though. Overall, I'm happy to recommend this game and looking forward to more content updates.

this is really fun! i love the character art. the curse gauge is a nice touch, it reminds me of the escalating difficulty gauge in "risk of rain" haha (complimentary!!!) i agree with others that this would be a great mobile port too.

It's a Caribbean, pirate-themed grid strategy game. Bright colors, casual. Approachable visually, but mad challenging gameplay. I play this while watching Kaytranada music videos because it somehow fit the vibe!

Fantastic tactical puzzle game. Only a few hours in and I can tell this is going to eat up a lot of my time. Just crunchy enough to really feel like everything is under my control, but not so complicated that I can't hold it all in my head. Easy recommendation!
