Quick Score: 5/5 Notes: I'm not a shmup enthusiast by any means, but I like this game quite a bit. Pretty challenging but very fair. The standard story mode does away with the whole live/continues meme and just gives you checkpoints. Once you finish story mode you unlock the more traditional arcade mode. As of this review no one has cleared arcade mode on "black hole" difficulty and I'm #1 on the leaderboards. So any pro gamers out there, get to it! Overall I dont think I have single complaint for the game. The dimension swap mechanic is done extremely well and makes for a pretty interesting gameplay experience with a lot of options available. The "perfect swap" mechanic works like a parry and is extremely fun to pull off and extend your super attack. All the stages were pretty fun and I enjoyed all the bosses. Highly Recommend.5 found this helpful
I am normally not good at shoot-em-up games but this one was pretty enjoyable. I definitely love that there are different difficulty modes so I can play easy mode and actually make progress in the game. I had fun!3 found this helpful
This game is amazing like Nostalgia!
This game has 2 modes: the one where you dont know about parry (a way slower Ikaruga with frankly underwhelming combat and a puzzle game type feel) and the one where you parry every bullet to get constant overclock (Dodonpachi level of violence with equal amount of risk), of which the Dodonpachi is way more fun for sure. Outside of that its pretty annoying that the screen movement spd is dependant on your position, meaning going top screen (outside of being suicide due to enemies literally poping into existence) will speed the level really hard, missing several enemies. Also despite the massive number of ships there are several that are straight up bad (the triple shot ship already struggles to do dmg, and the overclock has a 5 shot burst that cant hit nothing). Still a great time in multiplayer tho.
I play lot of shmups, this one is excellent. Give a nice, more accessable Ikaruga vibe. Visually it could be more polished, but solid nonetheless.
Fun, nicely made pixel art shoot'em up with interesting bosses and good music. Later levels are challenging even in normal mode.
