Sushi Courier! is a small casual delivery game built around the simple idea of delivering sushi to customers as quickly and safely as possible. The premise is easy to understand, but it gives me a clear goal from the moment I start playing. I have to move around the environment, pick up orders and make sure they reach the right destination. The delivery gameplay is the main attraction for me. There is something satisfying about planning a route and trying to complete an order efficiently. When I manage to deliver several orders without making mistakes, the game creates a nice sense of momentum that keeps me moving from one customer to the next. The sushi theme also gives the game some personality. Food delivery is already a familiar concept, but focusing specifically on sushi makes the presentation feel more playful. I like when a small game uses a simple theme consistently instead of trying to add unnecessary mechanics just to make the experience seem bigger. The controls are straightforward, which makes it easy to pick up. I do not need to spend a long time learning complicated systems before I can start completing deliveries. Free game with a sweet artstyle and character design and only an hour long (if you don't plan on doing multiple playthroughs like I did). Just be wary of mildly graphic fish guts and the game will also sometimes have loud noises in the soundtrack, make sure not to spam e on dialogue either as it can softlock you.
