Tabletop Hero

Before I tell you why this game is excellent, I need to provide some context: I play A LOT of deckbuilders. I buy and play so many deckbuilders, I have on multiple occasions discovered a deckbuilder in my steam queue (which has had over 12,000 games pass through it), only to find out while inspecting the store page that I not only already have played that deckbuilder, but I have already refunded it. I have played so many deckbuilders that they run together, and I have had to create a note-taking system just to tell them apart (I am a game developer, so note taking has other benefits). It is with this context in mind that I want to tell you that Tabletop Hero is awesome. The caveat with my recommendation is that I only have 3 hours played as of writing, so I cannot tell you how long its awesomeness will hold up (but I can already see many, many, many different strategies and unlocks being hinted at, so i suspect it will hold up for quite a while). I'm surprised at how few reviews this has. It's a high-quality deckbuilder with a strong similarity to Monster Train. The game was made by a Chinese developer but, as far as I can recall, there were no translation issues. If you find your first run boring, which you may, if you are even better than I, you should be aware that the game has six difficultes. Each progressive difficulty increase not only requires you to think more (obviously), but difficulties two and four also open up more gameplay mechanics that provide a significant increase to the possible strategies. Unfortunately, each class keeps its own records of difficulty, so winning 1-5 on one class will not allow you to play difficulty six on another. If the developers read this, I think it would be nice if completions of the first three difficulties could transfer between classes, as they are, as far as I can tell, intended to be the tutorial difficulties. Despite the potential hassle, it didn't bother me too much, as each class is significantly different, sharing no cards and each featuring multiple unique strategies. This is a fantastic deck builder game with lots of replay value. The decks you can make are all very fun and unique and makes you excited to try new ideas for each run. My only complaints are I wish they had more animations for the attacks and 2 of the heroes don't seem to work right. All in all, it is 100% worth a try if you enjoy Slay the Spire or other similar games :)

I had half day off Friday, and it all just went into this game. Totally recommend it if you like deck builders. The translation is a bit lackluster but the game play is very fun. If I wasn't a grown up with responsibilities I'd spend way more time playing this game than anything else.

This is an adorable game with a LOT of choices. Blood Queen is my favorite, but each have unique mechanics. Then there are also 5 professions, each of which unlocks more potential with each leveling. I have close to 100 hours already, so well worth every dime I paid.
