About TEEFAX: Cold Case
TEEFAX is a mysterious puzzle adventure game that has you solve a cold case after an old laptop containing the photos of a long unidentified victim is found in an abandoned house. There is also an app on the laptop - The Door. The police reckon it may be a cipher of some sort, but as they are unsuccessful in solving it, they turn to the public.

TEEFAX: Cold Case is an unusual retro puzzle game that runs as a bit of an imperfect simulation of ancient 1970's era Ceefax/Teletext, and for you young kids out there, in the age of analogue TV, they used vertical blanking buffers to piggyback text information along with the video broadcast. If you had a television set that could interpret that information, you could use your remote control to read those pages of text, typically simple information like news, weather and sports. This puzzle game copies the look and feel of Teletext (to some extent) and you're challenged to read through the news pages to determine that a murder has taken place and use various clues to eventually open a door which will solve the murder, by basically just clicking around on the screen. It's interesting that they recaptured the look and feel of Teletext, but at the same time we do need to take a little step back and consider that this is a for-profit game on Steam competing with the giants of the genre. I know that it looks dated on purpose, but the reason for the game looking bad isn't as important as the fact it does. And the puzzles themselves really aren't all that great. I feel genuinely stupid. Awesome.
Pretty cool little mystery game highlighting a technology that I didn't even know existed... I had to look up a walkthrough for the ending which I still didn't understand but maybe you will!
Bite-sized, fun investigative game in which you have to read through multiple articles on a fake teletext interface to figure out whodunit. Some parts are a bit obtuse, and screw the piano puzzle, but overall it's a decent way to spend 30 mins.

Althugh TEEFAX: Cold Case is a short game i really enjoyed it. I did need a guide at some point but that's because i didn't understand some parts. I give this game a 8/10
