A RACE AGAINST DARKNESSThe adventure of Fred is a return to RPG roots: unforgiving and without hand-holding. You explore a vast procedural world where time is not on your side.
- The Growing Threat: The world evolves. If you spend too much time farming resources, Dungeon Bosses gain power levels. You must weaken their defenses by eliminating their minion camps.
- Campsite Management: At night, you must pass survival tests (Fire, Cooking, Healing) to recover your mental state and health. Fail at camp, and you are already doomed for the next day.
- Limited Resources: Hunt, fish, and gather. Markets offer powerful gear, but prices are exorbitant for a beginner adventurer.
- Blindness Mechanic: In the dark, your dexterity and agility drop to zero. You can neither hit enemies nor dodge attacks.
- Prepare Yourself: Torches cannot be bought. You must understand the game's ecosystem, hunt specific creatures, and master crafting to hope to see what hides in the shadows.
- Narrative and Random: Riddles, multiple-choice encounters, and mysterious NPCs scatter the map.
- Free Progression: Blocked caves, unknown points of interest... Place your manual markers so you never lose track of a discovery. It is up to you to map and understand this world. No one will hold your hand.

The game is ok for what it is, There's still things that needs translation from france to english, and some things blend into the background on bigger screens you CAN lose your mouse while hunting mouses.. The irony there.. But it is a fun game to kill time with, IT'S HARD scaling wise though, You need to level up before you start actually fighting, But it's a fun little game, The 16,80 price is a lot but I've bought pricey games that were less, So this is still a good game and it doesn't try to fix things for the modern audience, It is a RPG table top game and thats it.1 found this helpful
Played a few hours. tabletop-like rpg where you roll vs various difficulty checks for different scenarios. Fun, but take awhile to get rolling. I would recommend for a lower current price point than the current $16
