About The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human
The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human is a pixelated, side-scrolling, underwater action-adventure game about exploring the decaying ruins of our species -- and fighting deadly sea-creatures -- in search of answers about our downfall.
We think it's important to bring up global issues that have affected our lives and try to give a different point of view: climate change, terrorism, and technological progress.
We’re not lying: You are the last human; humanity is doomed.
The water rose by an unpredictable amount due to climate change. The Earth's surface froze over, and humans were forced to live underwater -- where they could still harvest energy and grow food -- changing how cities and districts looked. As resources began to dwindle in the year 2971, sub-aquatic spaceships were sent to a nearby wormhole to look for habitable planets. Things did not go as planned. And now the ship, Argo9, has returned thousands of years later in a time after humans have gone extinct.
It's up to you to determine whether the ruins of our species is a travesty or an inevitable conclusion as you explore the lush aquatic world and encounter deadly underwater monsters.
This edition includes a pixel art map with all the boss locations, the full soundtrack composed by Karl Flodin -- and a digital booklet that gives some extra information about the story, weapons, and upgrades. Lastly, you'll receive a few desktop backgrounds that we made. All of this will be found in the game's folder.

It's okay-ish for a metroidvania game, but the lack of a map is awful - seriously, just look up the fan made map online and save yourself a headache. Gameplay is typical of the genre, bosses everywhere with item pickups; however, the item pickups are not immediately noticeable. They have nothing illuminating them against the background and the camera does not reveal them after a boss fight. Its very annoying to beat a boss, and eventually have to backtrack to the boss room because you failed to notice the item drop. Anyway, this is the thinnest of thumbs-up. The game's annoying, easily fixed design flaws overshadow what should have been a fun, short submarine adventure. The boss fights were fun and challenging, though. So, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.5 found this helpful
A little tedious and repetitive, but fun enough for a more hardcore metroidvania. But then it updated and wiped my save file so... nah, steer clear of this mess.3 found this helpful
This game kicked my ass when i was 15, I refunded it initially, but now i'm back. Apparently there's a dash in the game??? I beat every boss and legitimately never picked it up. x.x It's a very interesting experience, but one that's overall not very fun. You're supposed to feel vulnerable and small, the game reaches for that feeling by usually just lightly bumping you into one of the many instant kill obstacles. I like the idea of it all, the atmosphere in particular is what had 14 year old me so enamored. But the messy execution leaves a lot to be desired. The final boss in particular is a real snooze fest. Glad to have finally beaten it either way :)1 found this helpful

meh, its okay. little play in your downtime to soak up the aquatic design. thumbs up for art direction but no the hugest fan of the gameplay loop.
