About The Crazy Hyper-Dungeon Chronicles

Plunge into the Hyper-Dungeon!

Adventure awaits! Descend into a glorious pixel-art labyrinth where classic dungeon crawling clashes with electrifying turn-based combat featuring real-time elements! Your quest is shaped by your choices, and every character you meet, weapon you wield, or puzzle you solve will change how your adventure plays out. You’ll never experience the same trip twice in the Hyper-Dungeon. The quest to claim the legendary Scared Groowl will not be an easy feat!

Explore an Ever-shifting Labyrinth!

No two runs are the same! The Hyper-Dungeon is a living, breathing challenge that reinvents itself every time you dare to enter. Navigate 50 meticulously designed level archetypes across varied biomes, each presenting the chance to battle unique enemy types, overcome lethal traps, and solve mind-bending puzzles.

Master a turn-based combat system with a real‑time twist!

Face off against the HyperDungeon’s fantastical foes in a fast-paced combat system that fuses turn-based decision making with real-time action elements. You’ll need lightningfast reflexes to maximise damage dealt, critical hits, and even perfect parries with the arcade‑inspired Swing Meter. Harness the power of a vast arsenal of powerful weapons, each of which alters your abilities and playstyle.

Forge your Legend!

Choose between three distinct profiles: the combat‑focused Destroyer, the stealthy Explorer, or the lore‑hungry Resolver. Bolster your abilities with the intuitive crafting system, experiment with skill trees unique to each weapon, and take advantage of a deep character customisation system and build a dungeoneer worthy of the legends!

Laugh and Loot!

The CrazyHyper Dungeon Chronicles is a serious challenge, but it’s also packed with sharp dialogue, exceedingly eccentric individuals, and a LOT of pop culture and video game references that will hopefully make you smile as you fight for your life!

Interesting game mechanics and with some humor. Also it runs on Linux (^^)b

I really enjoyed it! The story kept me hooked, the puzzles are clever and the characters are well rounded and interesting, with many references to other games. The combat system can be frustrating at first, but it does get easier with practice. I will say tho that listening to the same soundtrack looping is not for the weak...

It looks great and has fantastic music. Also allows you to customize your experience for more focus on story, exploration, or combat. But combat is the only draw for me in an indie like this... and it's just horrible. It's slow, tedious, and revolves completely around timed hits. I can do the timed hits decently enough, but it's just not fun.

Combat system is just tiresome and frustrating to track, especially when enemies are many. Pointless crafting system. Level with puzzles are good.

I don't want to give it a negative review but the game was not fun at all.... it has so many flaws that the only good thing is the uniqueness of the combat and it's awfully unbalanced and frustrating if you don't hit always critical because you do almost no damage. -The crafting system is useless and awful. the only useful thing is cooking making food for healing. -The "humor" in the dialog is not funny at all and evey monster or npc keeps talking and talking... -The loot is useless, very few pieces of equipment are useful and they are a llitte upgrade. -Almost all the fury abilities are useless, the spear has a couple of useful skills but the other weapons feel like they are not worth it. I really like the idea of a game with this combat with better skills, loot, crafting , and more open maps... If the devs make a sequel I hope they change drastically every system of the game and focus more in the playability than the stupid dialogs or flavor text.

Most of the game is a dang good time! There's a few spots where the game intentionally tries to annoy you, and it works. For some, that might be fun, but I was only annoyed. And as those annoyances start to stack up, there's less and less enjoyment in progressing. Ultimately, this is right on the edge of whatever dividing line makes this a recommendation or not, and I think there's just maybe too many intentionally obnoxious things in the mix for me to recommend it. Art style is great, music is catchy, only encountered a handful of bugs in my time with the game. If a game going out of its way to be obnoxious to you doesn't sound like a dealbreaker, I would definitely recommend it as the rest of what's here is solid fun.
