The Elevator Game

I just wasn't scared at all, at any point. I think there's some fundamental, developer game-design issues with this game. This game I believe is heavily influenced from the cult VR classic, The Elevator Ritual. However, other than the prettier elevator graphics and the fact that you can pick one of three passengers (different horror experiences), this game is worse than the Elevator Ritual VR (a 2016 Oculus exclusive VR game). There's no story here. You're just thrown into an elevator and you're picking different level floors for who knows what reason, other than that was the main mechanic in The Elevator Ritual (however, it was explained in that game and there was a logic to picking the different floors). Here, there is no reason. You just pick random elevator floors. Sometimes spooky stuff will happen. Most of the time, nothing will happen. When spooky stuff happens, it'll be mostly lights going out or some spooky sounds. Maybe you'll see a wooden crate or a mannequin outside the elevator door. Seriously. I am not joki…

Imagine taking the worst part of Mass Effect 1, and turning it into its own video game.

I never review a game before a few hours of play but this one is an exception. The main reason is that "The Elevator Game" is not a game but a minigame that should have taken place in a proper development... And there is not much to say about it. 1- It is not really playable. You are stuck in an elevator. What you can only do is look around and press the "available" floor buttons. 2- The approach is nice but having the option to select the monster itself is a little off. 3- Shame that you cannot move out of the elevator as it warns on the store page. 4- The price is nice but not sure really if it is worth it. 5- It is fun for 15 minutes. but after that, there is nothing exciting about it. 6- There should be a logic behind floor buttons but it seems it is completely random. 7- It is a shame that floors are copy-paste as design. 8- No story means a huge NO! for me.

Incredibly boring and the controls for keyboard/mouse are completely janky. The game could have utilized so much more to make it a more entertaining game on the floors or include more things to do (rules to follow, etc), but instead it comes off awkwardly.
