The Fairway Club

I'm never going to criticise a golf game for trying to do things differently in a genre mostly filled with the same mechanics. And yes, this is certainly a bit different! Starting with the swing system which is presented in a way I've never come across. It does work and there is logic to it, once you get your nut around the approach. You WILL get caught out at first if you're used to the regular 3-press systems but it comes to you, even if it remains a bit weird. How I can I say.... I don't not love it? Similar;y, ball flight is represented from unusual angles especially towards the end of a shot. Graphics are crisp and pretty if a little generic, UIs decent enough. And it is fun once you get the hang of it, and that is the most important thing. It's not without issues, but it seems to still be receiving regular updates. Currently there are four 9-hole courses which can be played in free play or as a CPU tournament. The wind is very, very OP and tough to predict IMO (5mph, really? :D ) and there's quite the grind to improve clubs. But what can't be overlooked is that this is a single dev endeavour, and the dev seems friendly and receptive in discussion and suggestion…

I picked up golf irl when I worked as a groundskeeper for a local municipal course. Fell in love with the game right out the gate. The Fairway Club is a very chill way to spend some time at the driving range or, out on the links outright when a golfer is unable to physically go to a course and get their fix for a round. For me, it gets a little meditative at times. I love it.

Overall, a good game. Controls are take a bit to get use to and some bugs but overall got money's worth.

Game plays very smoothly. Fun little golf game that is worth the price without a doubt. I hope the dev adds a top down toggle view button rather than cycling through view modes. And Or a way to make the map bigger and have player location marked with an arrow pointing the way i'm facing or something. Great solo Dev game regardless!

It's okay. Kind of boring, and particularly janky regarding the movement, controls, etc. Feels lonely, since there are no tournaments, or NPCs. The glowing blue filter over everything doesn't help anything. Overall, I just think there's something missing. Even the shop only offers different colors of the same items. For a buck or two, you'll probably get up to an hour or two of fun out of this.

If the Dev decide to make a driving game with such simple controls I'll get it. - No micro transactions of any kind. Customizing buggy is fun. other stuffs you can unlock are balls, clubs, trails. just cosmetics. - 3 courses available, all are beautiful especially the meadows. TFC course you'll unlock once you reach lvl 3 for exhibition matches. - Infinite re-playability. - Challenge yourself in same courses or Timed more in practice. change wind speed and conditions for extra challenge. - Installation under 2GB. - Very light on system resources. I don't have a graphics card and in medium settings I get around 20-30 FPS.
