About The Majesti

Explore a new world without boring fetch quests and random encounters with identical enemies. Experience their saga without brain-crunching puzzles or grinding through random battles. Play as different animals from the three Majesti factions; herbivore, carnivore, and scavenger.

There is no profanity, blood/gore, sexual content...or lame dialogue and cheap endings!

Hard-core RPG gamers should note that there is no inventory management or traits/abilities/skill point management. There are items that will help win battles, but no equpiment or other character management.

✦ AI summary

Players praise The Majesti as a story-driven, fairytale-like experience with charming animal characters, beautiful music, and art that appeals to both children and adults seeking a relaxing game. However, some note the combat is less tactical than the developer's previous work, and the game penalizes character deaths by denying experience points, which can create difficulty spikes later on.

First and most important, bare in mind that this is not typical game. It's like story driven fairytale. And great one it is. So regular jrpg/rpg gamers should know it's not battle's oriented, no inventory, abilities, skills or items management. It's perfect for children, and how i can not recommend it when there is small vibe of Lion King in it, where most of characters are super cute animals. Also it's worth mentioning relaxing and immersive soundtrack that really plays well with the game, art is simple but it suits it's great. At point of writing review I haven't finish the game, but I had to share first impression. As this is not my type of game that I play, I would not pay the full price for it, however if it is your cup of tea, go for it and support the developer. Got it on 50% discount and don't regret a cent.

Playtester here hence my play time for this game. So i will not spoil anything here. Also this is the creator second game his first is Sydney's World so if you have played the game your in for a treat. The majesti is story about magic animals and the civilization they created. showing the point of view between herbivore, carnivore, scavenger and how it all leads towards the end. The game focuses heavily on story so while there are battles it's story related which are pretty well balanced as long as you use each characters skills as well as items wisely. There's also music that fits the game theme so well you never know what is going to be playing next. All i have to say is you don't get to see games as often these days to focus heavily on story and make the battles balanced.

For this review, I'll compare The Majesti with Sydney's World (previous game made by the same developer).
Story
Overall the story is great and fun to follow. There's a pacing problem in the beginning, but it gets better afterward. Few characters are also memorable, especially Chee Chee. I also find story revolving around 3 factions is a decent setup.
Gameplay
While the combat is still better than many low-cost RPGMaker games out there, it's a downgrade from the previous game. I feel there's fewer tactic/strategy involved. In addition, if one or more characters in the party got defeated, those characters wouldn't get any exp to level up. That means later fights would be harder due to lower stats and not having access to some skills. Aside from combat, you're just walking to a specific destination or talking to certain characters most of the time. If you don't pay much attention to the story, you wouldn't know where to go and there's no/little indicator of the destination. Even worse, some areas have unusual designs where it's not clear which path you can walk and you can hit "invisible wall" which is somewhat frustrating.
Visual
I notice some improveme…

This is exactly what the indie game should be, a true gem. Very well done, beautiful music and awesome story. Highly recommended for kids or even grown up to chill with when having a coffee or something ;)
