Early Access - Pre-Alpha open Playtest
Welcome to The Otherwilde.
Enjoy a slow paced amble through a gorgeous world of photorealistic natural assets!
This is not a survival game, and there's no leveling, so you'll need to craft to make your way through the world. It's fairly chill, but bosses will be added later, and you do have to watch out for the wolves... and a few other things.
A robust crafting system is ready for you. You'll need to gather herbs to create potions, gather materials such as wood, stone, and iron, and build crafting stations. Not every tree is harvestable, not every rock is minable, and herbs are hard to find, so you'll have to learn where to find resources. You'll be able to build bases with incredible medieval assets (Wood for now, but we have plans! It's also clunky for the moment and very much in progress, but it will be amazing.). As you gather herbs and mushrooms, you may find seeds, ready for the complete and integrated farming system.
Interact with unexpected NPCs, and hunt wild animals for rare components. Sell your goods to a village trader, and buy unusual things. Find your way to the center of the maze to find treasure! Look for the hidden chests in the Alder Grove, and make your way through the Fen to find the Witches.
Whether you prefer cute villages, spooky swamps, or brushy alder groves full of natural resources, you'll find something to your taste. As you explore, you'll find that most of the world is covered in grasslands or fantastic pine forests, but several areas have been finished with hand placed assets and detailed resources.
There is a complete TUTORIAL level available from the main menu that shows every asset and harvestable item in the game.
Please note that this game is in the EARLY ALPHA stage of development. It is completely playable, but only three sections have been completely added to the main map. There's plenty of stuff in the works, stay tuned for all the exciting updates!

Abandoned. Steam will let just anyone make a "game" and release it in Earl Access, and then abandon it and move on to the next thing. Only the customers get ♥♥♥♥♥♥, just like how Steam likes it.3 found this helpful
************************************************ * PRODUCT NOT WORKED ON SINCE 17TH JAN 2023 * ************************************************ Last update: 17th Jan 2023 Last developer post: July 2023, however there was a response statement by the developer in reply to someone saying the product was abandoned in the discussions thread on the 7th Feb 2025 that it wasn't - just on hold. There were a few other developers who said that same thing, "Novus Inceptio", "Landless", etc who had already immediately bailed on the product after making that statement. Going by the track record of lack of news, updates or even work at this point, I'd be a fool to not say this products been abandoned. Save your money for something else especially since no activity has been happening here.2 found this helpful

The last 3 days when I logged in to my saved game, lag has been so bad, it was not worth playing, and I have a 1 gig broadband fiber optic connection. ok, so I do like this game, and I think I gave it a bad rap. the gameplay is nice, that is when ya can play it. I now don't think it is the game's problem that there is lag. I say that because every steam game I have tried playing lately is lagging bad. I think the problem is on Steams end.
The Otherwilde has lots of possibilities and potential Explore the open world gather wood, stone,fibres etc to create some tools like axe, bow n arrow etc and clothing, herbs to create some potions there are some wildlife to kill make a fire to cook meat this can go rotten after a while if not cooked or cooked not every tree or rocks are harvest-able so you'll have to learn where to find resources there is a tutorial to walk through that shows every asset in the game
