More of a trashy horror game. The idea behind it was actually quite good, but unfortunately it wasn’t really well executed. There were a few unsettling moments, but overall it was pretty disappointing. Still, since it’s a free horror game, it might be worth trying out at least once.

The Paperman is a compact psychological horror experience developed and published by Proto1Studios. Released in 2019, the game approaches horror through atmosphere, exploration, unsettling environments, and a strange childhood legend rather than relying entirely on aggressive monsters or a constant succession of jumpscares. It was created with virtual reality as an important part of the experience, although a conventional PC version is also available for players without VR hardware. This broader accessibility is welcome, but the game's emphasis on immersion makes the VR version particularly appropriate for its style of psychological terror. The story begins with a wonderfully simple urban legend. Children in the neighborhood whisper about a mysterious figure known as the Paperman, an apparently supernatural man said to live somewhere within the forest. Nobody seems certain whether the creature actually exists, which gives the legend much of its effectiveness. Игровой процесс заключается в манипулировании этими самолётиками, направляя их по ветру и между зданиями. Несмотря на простоту управления, игра затягивает благодаря очарованию мира и отчаянному желанию помочь главному герою. Interesting and spooky game. One of the first games I ever played on steam, although it is a short game it is perfect for a free horror game. I recommend.
