This game is something that I would recommend you play if you want to experience a good story that delivers an impactful message about what one would sacrifice for the sake of another. The Seabed's Shining Star is such a different kind of game that I found myself enjoying it mostly for its writing and atmosphere. It is essentially a long conversation between a shrine maiden and a mysterious star that crashes into her car, and somehow that very strange setup works. I liked the relaxed pace because it feels more like sitting down with an unusual story than playing a traditional game. There is almost no traditional gameplay here. I simply read through the conversation and watch the relationship between the two characters develop. There are no choices to make, so I do not have to worry about finding the correct response or unlocking a particular ending. I actually think that works well because it lets me focus completely on the personalities and ideas being discussed. The contrast between the two characters is what kept me interested. The shrine maiden is deliberately unenthusiastic about her duties, while the star arrives with a much stranger and more energetic attitude. I enjoyed watching their personalities clash because the humor often comes from how differently they see the world. The conversations can also become surprisingly thoughtful beneath the comedy. T…
