The Warrior's Path

"The Warrior's Path" is a Unity asset flip made out of a bunch of Synty low polygon fantasy assets arranged badly and haphazardly into some kind of barely working RPG... this is bad, it's just bad. At least the developer didn't have the gall to try charge money for Synty's asset packs here. But they are trying to claim credit for them. Plagiarism is unethical. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

Crazy slow movement speed, no keybinds or settings of any kind, unintuitive controls you need to guess at to figure out, and no way to exit dialogue boxes. Neat concept, horrible execution.

TLDR: Nothing here. There is no save game function. You start at a campfire and just figure out the right mouse moves you. Then you slowly walk down a path. No instructions, no tutorial, no tool tips big nothing. You use half your food up just getting up off the ground and going to the path. Combat is slow and pointless. You kill a guy and lose half your health. Then you need to figure out that your inventory bag has to be open to loot 1 piece of cheese which gives you back a tiny bit of health. Then if you are not sleeping on your keyboard you may start walking down the path again. Supposed to have crafting but there is no way I found to enter a campsite and camp. I know the game is free but my play time is still valuable. Would not recommend at all.

Next up on my tour of why is this game in my library, let's play them all from worst rated to best rated is The Warrior's Path. If things moved even twice the speed there may be something here to very casually kill some time. It's has roguelike elements, there is nothing challenging but there is a charm to the graphics. But it's all so slow. So sloooooooooooooow. Things also can bug out after you've picked items up or crafted and item where movement becomes completely unresponsive. If you happen to be by something you can interact with you can fix it, but otherwise it's back to the menu. I think 30 minutes was enough to know what this game isn't. Anyway onto the next game in my backlog from worst rated to best!

Reading the reviews of this game, I had pretty low expectations. However, I was actually pleasantly surprised. Although basic, the game is actually pretty good. The game has a runescape-esque look and feel to it, which it executes rather well if I'm honest, and the mechanics hold up pretty well. There are crafting menus and an upgrade menu similar to the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. menu in Fallout. The only problem I have with the game is that you have to click to move, and the character moves awfully slowly. There also doesn't appear to be much of (Or any) story, which honestly doesn't really bother me but could do with adding to the game. Overall though, I liked this game and I would definitely recommend it.
