✦ AI summary
The Wilds of Dacrima is praised by players for its charming, cozy atmosphere, engaging puzzle design that strikes a good balance in difficulty, and rewarding exploration loop that encourages wandering and discovery. Common minor complaints include occasional technical issues like crashes, excessive camera wobble, repeating voice lines, and requests for better text accessibility options, though these don't significantly detract from the overall enjoyable experience.
The Wilds of Dacrima is a delightfully charming first-person adventure that masterfully blends exploratory puzzle-solving with a deeply relaxing, whimsical atmosphere. Stepping into the weathered boots of the aging alchemist Professor Edric Tayte, players are immediately immersed in a vibrant, stylized world teeming with bizarre flora and fauna that practically beg to be scanned, cataloged, and harvested. The core gameplay loop of gathering exotic ingredients to brew highly specific, status-altering potions feels incredibly rewarding, as each concoction seamlessly unlocks unique traversal abilities. This progression dynamic transforms exploration into a rewarding puzzle in its own right, making the act of uncovering the dense forest's ancient secrets a genuine joy. What truly elevates this indie title from a simple gathering simulator to a standout experience is the fantastic, narrative-driven dynamic between the eccentric protagonist and his unruly robot companion, L-P1N. Cute enjoyable story ~ I found it by chance thanks to an Instagram ad and don't regret taking it, I love puzzle games with nice environments, if they feel cozy but with a nice style and story, even better.1 found this helpful
Mostly, really like it. That said: The game should be a bit better structured, to only let you into the challenges you can do. Showing the skills needed is a plus. But I jumped into the Pit with only 2/3 needed. And I only got out by spam-jumping and some very iffy jumps. Otherwise I would have been stuck there with no way to continue. Voice acting is great. Fun characters. Controls pretty smooth. Jumping puzzles very forgiving.
Game if fun and graphics are awesome, but the game is bugged. Cant get passed ruby ruby quest which is needed to progress. Played maybe 1/3 of the game before i was forced to quit because of bug.
The game itself is good and I love it! I was experiencing a lot of crashes, but I'm not sure if that was something with my own setup or a conflict with OBS.
I haven’t had the opportunity to play much but so far the game looks, plays and feels fantastic. Everything has so much character and charm and the puzzles are just the right amount of challenging for someone like me. Can’t wait to spend more time exploring through the world and following the story through to the end.
