About The Wratch's Den
A byte-sized Dungeon Keeping roguelike where you'll have to protect the Wratch from the heartless heroes come for easy prestige, and expand your lair until you find the three Orbs of Inifinite Power so that the Wratch can restore their Dominion.
Turn by turn, dig out gold, carry it back to the Wratch and buy new monsters, traps and technologies. As you keep digging, you will unlock unique rooms to place in your dungeon to shape your path to success! Upgrade your orcs and goblins in the school, smith them new weapons and armor at the forge, rip off heroes in the market, drown them in snakes at the snake pit, and much more! But beware of the waves of heroes who will come in your tunnels every year to try and dethrone the Wratch!
Runs usually last between 20 to 40 minutes and the game features 4 difficulty modes, plus an endless mode to try and expand your dungeon as much as you can before the heroes overwhelm you.

While the presentation and "chunkiness" are great, and the semi-random structure of the dungeon is fun to play around, the game just drags on past the early-mid game, especially as certain rooms are opened (don't ever get the tavern), and heroes drop all of their items, more or less requiring you to pick them up to avoid being overwhelmed, which takes a lot of time. Certain actions and events take a lot of cumulative time, so that the late game becomes a drudge. Don't get it if you want something that will last longer than a couple hours, or offer a lot of longer-term engagement.
Fun and just complex enough! I just wish it had a save function, especially for Expansion mode.

One of the biggest mistakes you can make in a rouge like strategy game: is not having unlock progression. Wratches Den immediately becomes a grind. Youll just being doing the same thing over and over, with no progression of your play. You cant even choose where your traps will go. So youll get a dart gun thats placed in a corner where no enemies will wander to. Some fun ideas, wasted on poor execution.
