✦ AI summary

Players praise Threes as a charming, soulful puzzle game with mathematical depth that works well across platforms, though some find it frustratingly luck-dependent compared to its more famous clone 2048. Common complaints center on the high price for a mobile game, the significant role of luck in winning, and controls that don't feel as responsive on PC and handheld devices as on touchscreen phones.

Small, cozy tiles with a mathematical twist. It’s just as fun to play on a PC as it is on mobile devices.

Cute, charming and challenging! I'm very nostalgic for the infamous clone 2048 that spawned from this game but Threes is undeniably more soulful and difficult. $6 is a bit steep for a game you can get on your phone for $0.99 (basically free if you give Google Opinion Rewards a week or so of use) but it's very dope to have this as a downloadable Windows/Proton title

This game is much more luck dependent than 2048. I asked Claude what 12288 win rate(which is where the developers would consider you "beat the game") can a best AI achieve. The answer was 0.065% and this number from 2048 was 99.97%. For me personally, any game that have this percentage lower than 80% is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and not worth practicing. There are too many better games to play.

Have long loved this little time-passer on my phone, and now continue to love it on my PC and Steam Deck. I will say that the touchscreen sliding does not feel as precise/nice on Steam Deck as it does on my phone, but that might be more the hardware's fault than this game's fault. I usually control it with a thumbstick instead, and that feels pretty good.
