Throne of Cards

Throne of Cards tries to improve on the Stacklands/Stacks! formula. It fails at this on several levels: It seems that it [i]tries[/i] to look better or at least less simple than Stacklands, it ends up looking busier and with a heck of a lot less visual clarity. It seems to want to be, or at least appear, more complex than Stacklands, it ends up seeming obtuse and pointlessly complicated (which is not the same as complex, no matter how often beginning devs confuse the two. Adding complications for the sake of having complications isn't complexity, it's timewasting). It seems to want to be more permissive than Stacklands, it ends up being cluttered. Throne of Cards lets you generate certain types of resources much sooner than Stacklands does and doesn't have Stacklands' card limit. This would seem to be a good thing to anyone who's been annoyed by those things, but it ends up showcasing exactly why Stacklands made those choices, since without a card limit and without QoL features like storage cards, the field quickly ends up cluttered with huge, obstructing stacks of resources...
