About Tomo Jam
Tomo Jam
Turn your controller into a real musical instrument.Tomo Jam is a rhythm game where every button press plays a real note. Jump into built-in songs right away or instantly import custom MIDI to expand the experience with your own music. Play solo, in local couch co-op, or online in jam sessions with players around the world. There are no failure states. You can always finish the song, even if your score takes a hit, making Tomo Jam easy to enjoy as a beginner and rewarding to master over time.A Rhythm Game Built for Performance
In Tomo Jam, the chart gives you the structure, but your inputs shape how the performance feels.Every press produces sound instantly, so your timing, accuracy, and recovery all become part of the music. Stay on-chart, handle mistakes, and take advantage of improv sections to make each run feel dynamic and alive.Solo, Couch Co-Op, and Online Jam Sessions
Play alone, with up to 4 players locally, or online with up to 16 players in jam sessions. Each player chooses their own instrument and difficulty independently, while unselectedd parts are handled by the backing arrangement so the song still comes together as a full performance. Whether you want focused solo play, local chaos with friends, or online sessions with players around the world, Tomo Jam supports all three.Built-In Songs and Instant Custom MIDI
Tomo Jam includes built-in music so you can jump in immediately, but one of its biggest strengths is custom MIDI support.Import your own MIDI files and start playing almost instantly. Songs are mapped automatically, making it easy to explore everything from pack-in music to your own compositions and custom song libraries without manually charting every note. This gives Tomo Jam massive replayability and lets you keep expanding the game with music you want to perform. No Failure States, Multiple Ways to Play
Tomo Jam is designed to be approachable without losing depth. You can always complete a song, which makes it easy to learn, experiment, and enjoy the performance even when things get messy. At the same time, multiple difficulty modes let you gradually take on more of the music as your skill grows.- Novice keeps things simple and easy to pick up
- Amateur adds more range while staying approachable
- Pro demands stronger timing and control
- Master opens up the most expressive and demanding layouts
Improvise, Recover, and Make It Your Own
Tomo Jam is built around performance, not just strict repetition. Some sections allow full improvisation, while fast ornamental phrases are transformed into playable note patterns that still feel musical on a controller. Misses do not stop the song, and recovery becomes part of the experience rather than the end of it.That combination of structure and freedom gives Tomo Jam a different feel from traditional tap-along rhythm games.Built for Expression and Replayability
Tomo Jam is a rhythm game for players who want more than a pass/fail chart. With built-in music, instant custom MIDI support, multiple difficulty modes, local and online multiplayer, and a performance-driven design, Tomo Jam gives you a flexible and immensely satisfying rhythm playground.Whether you want to improve your scores, explore custom songs, jam with friends, or just make a joyful mess of a track, Tomo Jam lets you play music your way. What Steam players say

Immediately addictive, love the different instruments and learning to play!3 found this helpful
Tomo Jam! is a unique rhythm game heavily inspired by Daigasso Band Brothers, which debuted in Japan as a launch title for the Nintendo DS. It has stylish retro graphics, a great built-in song selection, the ability to seamlessly import your own MIDIs and immediately play them -- a huge feature that helps set this game apart -- and a sky-high skill ceiling, only limited by the intensity of MIDI files that you can find. I can easily see this game becoming a rhythm game staple on Steam, even in Early Access, as it is easy to get into but seems like it can get extraordinarily hard. There are four difficulty modes, ranging from novice to master levels. There's already leaderboards. The developer has suggested that achievements and a more robust ranking system are in progress. There's a culture of charting in some rhythm games that has become foundational to their appeal, like BMS, Etterna, and osu!. While there is not a charting feature in this game, the fact that it can import MIDIs and you can play them within moments could very well create a culture of creating MIDI files for ranking leaderboards not entirely unlike how most BMS songs are made for BMS. I'm into it. One of the ne…2 found this helpful

That takes me back to Daigasso! Band Brothers.1 found this helpful
Played this a little for the first time. Very easy game to get into with tutorial. The arrangements are really good. Definitely hit all them good good spots in my brain with the 8 bit sounds. Satisfying applause sounds. I'm impressed by the huge selection of songs on there already. Definitely notice the love and effort put into this game. Would recommend to anyone who has steam.
Thanks to Tomo Jam, I can finally play music with my tone deaf friends!
