About Towards The Stars
Mine asteroids and manage your crew's survival across three critical systems—fuel, energy, and life support—while exploring the galaxy to find a new home before your world is destroyed. Master zero-gravity physics and compete against friends in local multiplayer dogfights and races as you gather rare resources and unlock new technologies for your mining ship.
Features
- Resource mining: Mine asteroids to gather common and rare resources. Find the rare specimens and upgrade your ship.
- Ship management: Manage your crew and ship modules to ensure long term crew survival. You have tree main systems. Fuel, energy and life support. If anyone of them drops to zero, your are in a big trouble.
- Galaxy exploration: Travel across the galaxy, explore the star systems, find and research new technologies and avoid danger.
- Zero gravity simulation handling: In a space there is no drag and no gravity so flying is dangerous and difficult, it will take some practice to master.
- Local multiplayer: Match your piloting skills with your friends playing on one computer using gamepads in tree multiplayer modes. Free for all, deathmatch or team deathmatch and race.

Towards The Stars is an ambitious but poorly delivered SpaceWar!/Asteroids meets open world sandpit/spaceship management game. Which could work amazingly well, just look at Star Citizen, they raised $700M and didn't even make a game yet (but then again, not every game dev is Wing Commander's Chris Roberts). This is no Star Citizen. You're supposed to research and upgrade your ship, fine, but the tutorial is terrible, the UI a bit of a mess, but worse of all the flight control systems and control handling is just garbage. The best gamers in the world would have a difficult time playing this (even if they wanted to). It's obvious the developer did no gameplay testing (nobody would make a game this annoying and difficult to play on purpose). On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets and mostly otherwise is a 2D kind of game, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the mi…7 found this helpful
i have play almost 2 hours on easy and trying to mine enough to get basic starting stuff, i think it will be around 40 hours before you can get FTL or get started, the ship need to be easier to land and there is a item you can build to get this, but to get it you need to use a hour of mining, also the ship in the start use so much stuff over time, that you can't get enough to also build stuff TL;DR this game is RL days of trying to land on asteroid and mine.5 found this helpful
I am not physically capable of landing on an asteroid with the arbitrary difficulty of not being able to thrust myself 'downward' towards it, Not only have I crashed into it, I have fully stopped momentum hovering like an inch away from the surface.3 found this helpful
Hate everything about this one. I've only tried it twice, but it all seems so very obtuse. Information is vague, and the controls awkward and difficult. And the one time I actually managed to get both pieces of landing gear to touch down, which was apparently the goal, nothing happened. Avoid at all costs. A nightmare masquerading as a game.2 found this helpful
Boring and frustrating. Progression practically impossible, and, where possible, tedious
Relaxing and fun.
