About Treasure Hunter Man 2
With the help of the many treasures on a mysterious island, Dorothy might just be able to save her son and dispel a terrible curse.
THM2 is a retro metroidvania. Acquiring new equipment and upgrades opens up more explorable areas in all sorts of places. This adventure platformer takes you from the depth of a sunken underground city to the ruins in the sky all the way beyond the realms of reality.
The game has multiple endings and additional challenges if you're really good at treasure hunting. A normal playthrough will take about 4-5 hours, and with the optional content about 7 to 8 hours.
This version comes with Steam achievements and other minor updates.
A few notes:
If you want to go fullscreen without a visible window border, hit ALT+ENTER. That works in a lot of games! Do the same again for going back to windowed mode. The standard key setup is as follows: A/S/D + Arrow Keys - You can change these using the in-game key configurator if they're not to your liking. Gamepads will work if they're plugged in before the game is started. The inventory is opened while the third action button (D on the keyboard) is held down.

Far exceeds expectations. Kinda nice metroidvania with the major downside being that it doesn't have a map and so remebering stuff like a small yellow switch on a wall somewhere gets annoying after a while.6 found this helpful

(I'm updating this review, now that I've replayed it and achieved 100% on it a year since I first beat it. Don't worry, I'll keep it somewhat shorter this time) Treasure Hunter Man 2 is a great sequel to what was a solid first entry, this time with a Game Boy Advance style aesthetic, thanks to the screen resolution and gratuitously rotating sprites. This is a deceptively tricky but mostly fair Metroidvania, that's also short and sweet. You can easily complete this game in the span of 8 hours if you go for 100%. The updated version runs at a consistent 60 FPS compared to the original, which was mostly locked to 30, but would speed up out of nowhere at times. Be forewarned, that the new version doesn't trigger achievements, so if you care about getting them, you'll need to play the original version. Now for the big problem: Even as of this writing, nearing 2025, the updated version is STILL broken and cannot be completed 100%, as it'll only ever tick up to 67% with all treasures in the main game collected. You won't be able to access the postgame as a result.1 found this helpful
Beat the game in about 3 hours - probably a couple more hours if you're a completionist ( 6 ish). A really good mini metroidvania. I appreciated the unique colour palette and full remapping of the keybinds which is rare for small indie games. Well worth the price.1 found this helpful
Solid indie metroidvania. Much harder than it initially appears but it still feels fair. Already played for an hour and feel good about the price to entertainment value. I might be biased because of love this style of game.
Several hours of decent metroidvania fun, well worth the few bucks! A fairly calming game with simple controls.
