I do not wish to sound too harsh but need to share some criticism. Speaking solely on the simulator I've played almost 12 hours and have been unable to finish 18 holes. Too common to get stuck inside a tree, bush, fence or something that you can't see, I guess because you are standing in it. The limited amount of movement usually isn't enough to get out. Rock Hill in particular is really bad. Either can't get out and have to restart the round or keep throwing the disc in crazy angles and 20 strokes later luck your way out. I have thrown the disc and it goes straight backwards as if hitting an invisible wall. Pass mando and end up back before mando in a continuous loop. It would be nice in those instances to rewind to your last shot so you can avoid getting stuck, or be able to place yourself elsewhere. Maybe a free walk? I bought a techdisc and built a simulator in the house to play the game. A big investment for something that doesn't feel finished yet. Hoping some fix gets implemented sooner than later as I would really like to finish a round. The idea of being able to play a course across the world with a buddy also on the other side of the world is just too good to give up hope…
A Great Walk Spoiled... By a Rolling Frisbee and UI Quirks
Let's be honest, the gaming world needs more niche sports instead of just focusing on football and basketball. Enter True Disc Golf. It’s a title with immense potential, offering a mixed bag of brilliant physics, an active developer, and a seriously clunky interface.
The Good: PGA Tour, but with Plastic
The core gameplay is where this game truly shines. The throw and power mechanics feel heavily inspired by traditional golf games, and it works wonderfully. The physics are authentic—sometimes too authentic. There is a unique, soul-crushing beauty in watching your disc land perfectly near the basket, only to stand up on its edge and dramatically roll 50 feet straight into a lake. That's just the cruel reality of the sport! Kudos to the developer for being highly active, pushing out 19 updates since launch. The roadmap also promises a Course Editor this year, which will be an absolute game-changer for replayability.
The Bad: Hide and Seek with the Features
I actually had to rewrite this review because the UI is so confusing I initially thought the game completely lacked multiplayer …

Disc golfer recommended. The best representation of disc golf in video game format I've encountered, and I've searched top to bottom. What makes this better than the rest? Accurate flight physics, wind physics and real life discs that I already know. Add that to the IRL courses I see on the Pro Tour and you'll see this is obviously a disc golf game made a true disc golfer. All my hundreds of hours is on the Switch. I'm embarrassed how many hours on the Switch and early Steam demo. The default difficulty setting has the game playing like a disc golf simulator, vs. an easy arcade game. It makes you think about your shot shape, lines through the trees, wind direction, ect... It's pretty true to life. I look forward to all the future development of the game.

Very fun despite the jank! I've run into some visual bugs and game crashes, but the mechanics really do simulate the highs and (especially) the lows of a real round of disc golf: doinking your disc off the top of the basket, launching right into a tree trunk, skimming tree branches and screwing up your throw. It's pretty cool to see so many real discs modeled in the game, and I like the challenge of balancing the wind and course versus your disc angles and forehand/backhand. There's lots to improve with regards to menu design and basic UX, plus the bugs/crashes I've already witnessed. I'd love to see more features from golf games added here like greater control over the camera, the ability to spectate opponents, and a preview of your flight angle. Feels like a no-brainer if it's on sale, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the game grows in the future.
