What a great game! Fun new game mechanic. Engaging story. Just the right amount of difficulty. 10/10

I had a blast playing and there is at least 4 hours of gameplay which is more than enough for the price point. I didn't manage to get 100% completion on the achievements so I will be going back through and trying it again (there is a decision point I want to see as well). Similar games would include Portal though it has more dark elements than Portal. There is no gore or nudity and minimal cursing. The devs originally had AI but have since removed it! Yay!

[h2]Portal meets Lightmatter[/h2] [b]Difficulty:[/b] ★★☆☆☆ Play with an exotic material which only appears when you shine light on it. Cool test-chamber like puzzle game by a small studio. Interesting core mechanic and decent, well-designed, even if not that hard puzzles. There are like 1-2 kind of difficult puzzles near the end but thats it. I love the easter-eggs and hidden, tucked away optional stuff you can find if you look closely. I loved the initial mystery and the concept of invisible messages, but... [u]The negatives:[/u] ...the story is serviceable at best. Certainly nothing that I will remember even in 1 week. I just can't... [spoiler]an AI named Bill reaching for godhood. 'aight lol.[/spoiler] I though the story would get more interesting, I expected more Sarah stuff, but ok. The AI voice over really makes the characters soulless and bland. I get that professional VA is expensive, but its not like theres a TON of VA to be done. The physics with items are consistently janky (but thankfully not to the point it is broken). If you’re into games like Portal, you’re going to love Unlighted. It’s all about solving puzzles in different rooms, but it really stands out thanks to its story. The narrative is super well integrated, from the notes you pick up to the scanner, the easter eggs you hunt down… it all makes you want to dig deeper. And the endings? Iis so COOL because it makes you want to replay it and see what changes. My only complaint is that it felt too short, probably because I was enjoying it so much. Overall, if you like puzzle games with that Portal-vibe, a strong dystopian setting, and a story that keeps you hooked, I’d absolutely recommend this one. It’s a really fun ride!!

Really great game! Nice art, great music and some tough puzzles that feel very rewarding when you finally solve them!

I'm saddened to see that this game has so few reviews. I haven't played very long but I'm putting one up. This game is most certainly a love letter to Portal and I see the comparisons to Lightmatter. It's simpler but it has a lot of similarities. It's fun and easygoing which I like. Definitely check this one out!
