Utopia Process

Lucky me gets to write the first review for Utopia Process. Utopia Process is a 2D retro pixel shoot 'em up/bullet hell game that's been slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit from Yoyogames. It's a fairly simple arcade shooter, you need to protect 4 bases as enemies fall down the screen at you and try to shoot you and the bases. The only key differentiator here is you can "split" your ship into two ships momentarily to give you a different firing solution. GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and unsurprisingly results in products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Using a video game construction kit requires little to no talent or skill as a game developer. Very often, GameMaker Studio is used to make shovelware and lazy cash grabs. That was what happened here, but the developer had a change of heart and released the game for free, and offered to do refunds for anyone who had bought the game, so that demonstrates significant and admirable integrity from the developer. Особенно интересно наблюдать, как меняется динамика поселения в зависимости от выбранного вами пути: будь то стремление к процветанию любой ценой, или попытка построить более гуманное общество. Несмотря на то, что игровой процесс может показаться несколько монотонным, он компенсируется непредсказуемостью последствий и желанием увидеть, к чему приведут ваши решения. 'Utopia Process' - это игра, которая остаётся в памяти надолго, заставляя задуматься о природе власти, морали и компромиссах, на которые мы готовы пойти ради достижения цели.

This game had a lot of work go into it and it shows. Everything from the sound effects to the screen shake are great and make this game feel so nice to play. It gives a retro arcade vibe and I get stuck playing it trying to beat my high score. Highly recommend

This game not only has beautiful art, but has really fun gameplay as well. Most of the free games on this platform aren't fun at all, and this one is more than worth a download. I was only going to play for a few minutes, but got sucked into it as I was trying to beat my high score. It gets more and more fun as you play as well, with you improving a little bit each time (and also raging at dying, as is natural for an arcade game!). I definitely recommend this game as its quality far surpasses a free game.
