About Vactics

This is Solitude City in 2085 AD, it is the year of the Vactic uprising. We must build a mech to fight the robotic Vactics and liberate the city. But the teckno-paradise city itself also stands in your way. It is constantly changing the layout of its districts and streets. Each mech we bring into battle will face a new randomly generated challenge to overcome in this turn-based strategy game.

Key Features

 • Become a Mech Builder: Construct a Mech using 16 different types of tech that can be altered with dozens of tech mods and arcane cores.
 • Master the chess-like strategy: The Vactics will show us where they are going to move and attack. Use their actions against them and inflict maximum damage on their forces. Activating the mech's tech will not end the turn so using them at the perfect moment will turn the tide of battle.
 • Save the City: You are just one citizen of Solitude City. The people are working together to salvage mechs for the fight so even if you fail there will be tech to begin the fight once more on. Rescue the Lost Pilots and join with them to discover the final victory.
 • Overcome the challenges: Complete the list of 75 Achievements, activate additional gameplay Escalations and fight in the Daily District challenge mode to fully dominate the Vactics.
 • Complete the Codex: The history and lore of Solitude City is out there to be discovered. Every Vactic we fight, tech we salvage and modify and district we complete has a story to tell.

I love Into The Breach and this game really got me hooked on my mobile device (that's why i don't have that much playtime here on steam). I think it fits just right for mobile, so you should probably just get it there as a nice daily tactics challenge for your pocket. The game is very well designed, everything important is always on screen. The game starts easy enough but grows harder with each district you save during your run, which lasts about 30 to 60 minutes. New weapons and different upgrades come to your aid but offer new challenges as well and if you find that all too easy you might opt in for different modifiers that make your run even harder. The daily offers a refreshingly different puzzle from day to day and I only wished that game had a wider audience so that there were more challengers on the leaderboard. ;-D So come all and play!

This is basically Hoplite has a child with Into the Breach, which can only mean a great game. Awesome tactics roguelike! Also, something I haven't seen been brought up is the incredible soundtrack! Highly recommend.

Very underrated Roguelite. Fun amount of variety and progression, with great tile turn-based combat I enjoy immensely.

Criminally underrated little gem of a game in the vein of Into the Breach. Pros: + Simple, clean, crisp pixel graphics. Bonus: there are multiple (unlockable) color schemes + Addicting, smart, puzzle-like game mechanics. 'Solving' each map with the mech's equipped tech is extremely satisfying + Good sense of progression and a good array of unlockable tech, pilots and cores for experimenting on various builds + Excellent replay value through map randomization and enemy types / placement + Good learning curve. Acquiring new skills / completing achievements is well paced and perfectly explained + Music is good, well suited to the light-hearted, sci-fi theme of the game + Cool little end-of-the-run animation = The story is a bit lackluster and the lore is rather sparse Cons: - Control Tower units block view, hiding the enemy unit in the hex behind - Strange UX. Changing between the unlocked color palettes can only be done via the main menu (i.e. not during gameplay) / Statistics option (edit: now renamed to Game Progress, still strange) - Unskippable credits at the end of each successful run

I really like this game so far! [strike] However, I currently cannot recommend it. Since the last update on December 1, 2023, the options menu is completely broken and can't be accessed after the initial setup. This problem is not necessarily game-breaking, but because the dev hasn't replied to the bug report or fixed this issue for more than a month, I can't recommend the game right now. [/strike] The issue is finally fixed! I would've liked some better communication about it, but nevertheless, the game is really good (a bit too hard for my taste) and people looking for a challenge should really give it a try.
