Gameplay Breakdown
With either your right and left hand, you can pull the trigger to charge an Energy Ball. After a quick charging period, the ball is ready to throw. The ball responds to your actions in a realistic and very natural manner.

At any point, you have two types of balls available to you, a Damage and Teleport ball. The Damage Ball will kill any enemy player it touches. If you charge it and hold it in your hand, you can also use it to deflect incoming balls.
The Teleport Ball is your primary method of locomotion. It has a short charge time, and will teleport you to wherever it lands immediately. Think before you throw however, the ball won't teleport you until it lands. If you're in a tricky spot with enemies and try to throw the ball very far, you have to wait for the ball to travel before you teleport. Sometimes it may be smarter to throw the ball closer to you to teleport faster. Watch enemies actions with their balls as a strategy, if they've just teleported, you have a chance to strike as they have to charge it before teleporting again.
If you have a Damage Ball coming towards you and can't teleport in time, you can either physically move in your play space to dodge the ball, or if you have a charged Damage Ball in your hand you can block with it.

Experiment with the balls and come up with strategies to gain an advantage against your multiplayer opponents.

Features

Currently there are 3 vastly different multiplayer maps in the game. A Vaporwave Arena, a Vibrant city where battle it out on rooftops, and a Desert military base with some otherworldly intruders. We have plans to add many more levels in the coming months, and want to share our development process with the community.

Practice your skills offline in a round based VR Training mode.

Right now we have Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch game modes, with the options of 1v1, 2v2, and 4v4 players.
We are working to add an Objective based game mode, that involves hoops on both teams side of the arena. With 1 life per player per round, players will score by taking the Score ball and throwing it in the enemies hoop, all while avoiding getting killed.

Dev Notes
We are working hard add more features and polish the game further. Join our Discord server if you'd like to give us feedback or ask any questions! We'd love to hear your ideas. We want to make a fun, physics based multiplayer game that takes full advantage of what makes VR unique. We hope you enjoy what we've created so far, we look forward to showing you what else is to come . https://discord.gg/sXX2Tcj

✦ AI summary

Players praise VectorBall's fun gameplay mechanics, immersive throwing controls, attractive vaporwave aesthetic, and engaging training mode, with some comparing it favorably to similar VR titles. However, the game faces critical issues including a nearly non-existent player base with only a few concurrent players online, difficulty connecting to multiplayer servers, and the inherent problem of being a multiplayer-focused game without sufficient population to sustain it.
Experienced on the Oculus / Meta Quest 2
You can view my initial impressions & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/QNoLNYJgo4k If you throw a dodgeball in the forest and nobody is there, was it really thrown? Vectorball is here to answer that question and the answer is yes because you can record footage of you throwing said dodgeball and then other humans can see it on social media, thus empirically proving that the said dodgeball was in fact thrown. Perception is reality! What I'm saying is that this Online Multiplayer PvP focused dodgeball game with a vaporwave aesthetic is DOA. I know it just released in Early Access, but since release there have been a maximum of 3 players online for this game. That almost seems impossible on Steam, but it is the grim reality and I almost weep for these devs. I'm sure they put some work into making this game and it appears to be a catastrophic start to their hopes & dreams of a successful game. In fact, I was online playing this game and I waited for 15-20 minutes for a 1 v 1 match and I waited and waited. I almost lost my sanity but I eventually found out that you can't lose something you never had. Is VectorBall a good online MP game…

Awesome early access title! I haven't even tried the multiplayer yet because I'm hooked on the training mode.

VectorBall is an Early Access Paid VR game that is supposed to be online PvP. It worked on my HTC Vive, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Has a Vaporwave theme. Has a solo tutorial mission. Has plenty of background music tracks. Cons: - The online server is missing or not connecting. - There are no players buying this game and playing it. - Very hard to hit with the weapon ball. Not worth buying with money. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. ViVE VR curator group

I have gotten a chance to play a few training matches. The only disclaimer I have is make sure you have plenty of space to walk around your room. You can play stationary, but I recommend standing. Now, for the game itself! Controls - Left handed ball will move your character forward to the spot the ball lands. The right handed ball will eliminate the other players or AI you're fighting against. You will need to arch your arm back and throw the ball just like you would in real life. Even though this is a VR simulation it is pretty immersive and I found myself getting mesmerized by the world. I'm looking forward to playing more of this game! Visuals - You're going to get lost in the backgrounds, clean visuals in destruction events as well Sound - The sound is crisp, doesn't flutter. There are 22 tracks in the game currently. Overall - This is a fun experience to sit and play for a while! I recommend!
