The game launches in Chinese and you'll need to change it to English. [b]select the third text option from the bottom at the main menu and then using the third drop down from the top, select English.[/b] [h3]The game[/h3] That out of the way, Variable is a tough learning experience as the tutorial lacks clear information through the poor English translation in conjunction with an unclear interface & guidance popups. On top of the aforementioned, the tutorial is long and quickly stops providing information. If you can get past these barriers and piece together necessary information by trial & error, the game’s elements start to shine & its vision can be seen & experienced but it remains a struggle. In my time I was able to play a few runs but the tutorial was a majority of my time as its completion is required to move on. The tutorial requires the completion of 50 rounds. It is completely unforgiving, it is mandatory and failing at any point will place you back at square one. Thankfully each failure & replay can be different as a result of the build a maze gameplay structure and the RNG aspect of selecting towers; albeit you are restricted to what’s available during the tutorial…

Never thought I'd refund a game that's $1.24, but here's why: • had to figure out where the English option was because it launched in some sort of Eastern language • tried the tutorial, couldn't finish it because the instructions stop • went to lvl 1 instead, had no towers and lost • figured out how to get a tower, flipped 3 towers and only got 1 • got stuck again because again, there's no instruction • awful sound design and music • gave up

Utterly baffling - I can't figure out how to do half the things I need to do during gameplay!

very fun tower defense game(my only experience with tower defense other than bloons)

Game would have potential, but terribly lacks polish. The game does not detect the local language, and starts up in chinese and good luck switching to English. A lot of textboxes have their text cut off, so you get stuff like half the description of what a turret does. Graphics are very very plain, 0 effort. The tutorial is so buggy I had to skip it as I could not finish it. Good idea, but that's more like a prototype than an actual game at this point.

First tower defense game I've played in a while, and very happy I chose this one! Love the design, style, new functionality of weaponry, all wrapped in a sci-fi pixel package. I highly recommend this TD game for those who are looking for something that breaks the mold, gameplay-wise.
