Venusville - Prologue

I like where this game is going. I does seem a bit early in the development but its a good start. The graphics aren't real detailed but the UI is fairly good. Definitely worth keeping your eye on. EDIT: I was unable to run the game in my monitors native resolution of 3840X1600 so I posted the issue on the games discussion board. The developer responded that he would add that resolution and the very next updated he did so. With so many large greedy developers on steam these days it's great to have someone who really listens to their current and/or potential customers. For that reason alone I think we should buy the game.

The idea behind the game is really cool, especially the setting. I hope everything works out well for you and that the project continues to grow successfully. I only have one big request: please add Russian language support. It would make it much easier for Russian-speaking players to understand the mechanics and enjoy the game.

Very good game was fun and enjoyable. Would love to see the final product.

Venusville - Prologue is a space colony builder where you command a robotic platform floating in Venus's atmosphere. You build infrastructure, gather resources, manage power, and balance the weight and buoyancy of your colony to keep it from dropping into the hostile clouds below. Pros ✔️ The building is fairly automated - Once you place what you want, the robots handle a lot of the actual construction, which could make managing a much larger colony easier later on. ✔️ The controls are familiar - Moving around and placing things uses enough standard city-builder controls that I did not have to spend forever figuring out the basics. ✔️ It does indeed run - I struggled to find much else I felt strongly positive about in the prologue, but the game functioned and I was able to play it. Cons ❌ The UI feels clunky - Almost immediately I felt like I was fighting with the menus and placement instead of comfortably building my platform. ❌ The writing and voice presentation are weak - I know the tutorial is being delivered by an AI, but that did not make the awkward dialogue and delivery work any better for me. ❌ The presentation did not sell me on the concept - A floating robotic colony a…

Venusville: Prologue immediately caught my attention because building a floating colony in the clouds of Venus is such a strong setting for a city builder. I take control of a robotic mission tasked with establishing a stable platform in an extremely hostile environment, and I liked how the dangers of Venus are directly connected to the way I build. The most interesting mechanic for me is buoyancy and balance. I have to carefully position heavy and light structures so that the floating platform stays stable instead of tipping or descending into more dangerous parts of the atmosphere. I really enjoyed this because building something new is not just about having enough resources. I also have to think about where it belongs physically. Resource management and automation are another major part of the experience. My robotic workforce can gather materials, process them and construct new modules while charging and repair systems keep everything running. I liked watching the platform slowly become more self sufficient as I connected the different production systems together. The hostile environment adds plenty of pressure. Good concept, sadly its janky as hell. Played the demo for about 45 minutes. Found a bug that allowed me to place storage outside domes. Found a bug that caused every single robot to stop working One of those is an exploit and the other is a **game breaking** bug. Moving on to jank features. You cant move the camera around the platform when the game is paused. Balloons have such a large "click box" that they get in the way of accessing every building around them. Its a free demo, but it feels like its too early for that. Hopefully the devs polish it up, till then. Cant recommend. (Edit) The dev responded, ask for feedback, which I attempted to provide. How that plays out depends on the dev. I'll try to keep an eye on this one and see if they're consistent with their updates and fixs.
