game keeps bugging out every minute1 found this helpful
"Vespera_Hotel" is a weird Chinese tech demo of a game, maybe a student project or something, it's hard to tell. What do you do in the game? It's a first person adventure game of some kind where you work in a hotel and help guests and stuff... but it's badly made, riddled with bugs, short, and incoherent. The graphics aren't great, garbage low poly assets with ugly 2D retro pixel textures on them... almost like the developer went out of their way to make the game look ugly on purpose. That's understandably be turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. This is only free in a rudimentary sense... the developer has their hand out for a $1 USD "donation" for this as you're expected to buy soundtrack DLC from Steam to "support" the "developer"... digital panhandling. Like the homeless guys who splash dirty water on your windscreen at the traffic lights. No thanks. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 12…1 found this helpful
short and sweet finished the game in 70 minutes and it was 70 minutes well spent.
The atmosphere in this game is honestly really nice. It has that cozy but slightly mysterious vibe that makes exploring the hotel and talking to characters feel relaxing at the same time. The pacing is slow and simple, but that actually works well if you just want a chill experience with a unique mood.
It's a pretty fun short game but pretty much that, the horror and mystery elements are pretty well made, oh and the art style is good.
a short but good game with minor glitches
