My gambling addict friend said if I post a review on Viral and it gets 350 likes and 150 Awards that he will buy me a case of beer and some vodka.. So I'm just gonna leave this here.

However it does not close with the same key. You still have to use the menu exit option within the menu. - Game seems to be crashing a lot now and killed my good run in the Hex Plains just before the upgrade station. ** Doesn't seem to crash now - Playing on easy still as I didn't want to fully restart with the recent patch however I am noticing that enemies are quite bullet spongy and I am running out of ammo causing me to have to to restart the area. The last section of the the first level took me quite a few tries in order to get pass it. You are a firewall program, inside of a computer, trying to fight off an invading virus in [b]VIRAL[/b] by [b]Jitterware[/b], a first-person shooter (FPS) programmed with the Unity development platform. FPS games have come a long way since the days of Wolfenstein 3D & Doom (the original one). With true polygon room-over-room architecture and polygon-based enemies, any setting can be rendered, any weapon created and any enemy realized so long as you have the proper expertise in order to create them. VIRAL displays its production values early on, giving the player a short intro even before the title appears, much like that of a movie from a major motion picture studio. The intro is impressive and the setting reminds older gamers of another FPS game, [b]TRON 2.0[/b], which was based upon the movie "Tron." That game (and the movie that it was based upon) is also set inside of a computer and even shares a vaguely similar plot where the player must ultimately defeat programs turned violently psychotic because of a virus. "Viral" is a first person arena shooter (vs bots, not PvP) that I think was intended to have a bit more narrative than it does... sure, PvP arena shooters don't have content, but players are content, right? (Of course they're not)... but what if you had an arena shooter without content and without players? Then you have "Viral". Bonus: It's already abandoned. What do you do in the game? Shoot bots in a variety of hand crafted levels. The developers abandoned this 1 year and 1 month ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. Before I get too far into it, I think it's evident none of the graphical assets here are flips, this is genuine hand crafted stuff.. not great, sure, but genuine. In the "free" game section of Steam, this is incredibly rare and I think some kudos needs to go to the developer for doing the right thing and not trying to pass off other people's game assets as their own. Just BAD in all the ways FPS design can be bad. I could breakdown everything here, but it's so extensive you'd get tired of reading quickly. The inexplicable Recommended reviews must be from friends. I mean, have you not played any of the other amazing FPS games made in Unity and taken a few notes on what makes them great and successful? Call it an alpha, prototype, or whatever but it's just way off the mark on what makes an FPS playable and enjoyable.

Pretty good for an indie game in Early Access. Pros -Music -Game play (Never crashed) -Battle arenas were unique and stylish -Enemies were original and had really interesting attack patterns -Weapons were nice (Love the Hysteresis Cannon) -I liked the level design. The artwork was decent. Cons -Story sucked -The game is not complete. There are only 8 levels (for now...) -Only 6 weapons (so far...). Too few for my liking. -There is some kind of bug with the music. Sometimes it plays 2 songs overlapping one another and it sounds terrible. -No way to line up your shot. Usually you can use the shift button to bring your weapon to the centre of the screen for a precise shot. This game doesn't have that. You just shoot whenever something is in your cross hairs. The aim is precise, but I'm used to lining my shot up.
