Volume offers solid stealth puzzle gameplay with creative mechanics, varied challenges, and an excellent soundtrack that keeps things fresh throughout its campaign. However, players note that the game can feel overly long and cumbersome as it introduces and rotates through many abilities, with some wishing for larger levels and more substantial story content instead of the thin simulation-themed narrative.
Stealth puzzle strategy combo is great at heart but this one feels like it drags on and on
For stealth or strategy fanatics this is a strong maybe. I love me some well built stealth games and Volume is pretty good for the most part but I lean to a Maybe vote here. The ideas and strategy required for each level gets more and more difficult. New abilities are constantly being shown after each few levels and then forgotten again. The downside is after playing for awhile and learning so many abilities. It begins to feel very cumbersome and overly redundant. It drags on and at times I wish the levels were larger instead of being tiny. The story is lackluster but at least it has the feel that you're trapped in a simulation which is a cool aesthetic. Can't tell what kind of game it is because it was too small to see on two different PCs. Couldn't resize, couldn't fullscreen, couldn't read the config options to see if I could set it fullscreen or change the resolution. Maybe it was great in 2015, but it certainly hasn't adapted to the times and today's monitors.
Honestly, quite a good game. Had lots of fun with various mechanics. Maybe at times it's leaning a bit too into precision, but overall it's fun. I also liked the cameos. Dan was wrong.
good
Loved every minute of this stealth puzzle game! I wish there were more stages
